Remember Albin Ouschan a few weeks ago: "Welcome to the United States of Cheaters," and "the Europeans are all professionals and the Americans except SVB are all hustlers."
"the Europeans are all professionals and the Americans except SVB are all hustlers."
IIRC, it was in response to Dechaine calling the questionable foul. Darren even chimed in and said what a disgrace Mike and the US Open were because of it, but neither had anything to say when they heard about the foul Boyes had called.
I kind of like him giving us that label... better to be known as a Hustler then just "Jasmin's Brother".

The top 3 "professional" players, if I was ranking them based on attitude, work ethic, congeniality and results, would be Hohmann, Feijen and SVB. Two of the three are European.
Recently their talent is just flat out better than ours. I wish Dennis Hatch was playing well and on the team because he has some tremendous wins over some of their players and he brings a fighters mentality to the game. Most of our guys are not rah rah type of players. I hope I'm wrong but I see more of the same from the last few years.
Hatch is truly motivating (and intimidating).
He would be a good force to have, but you're right about his playing.
He might be "worn out" technically speaking.
Remember, he's been at it since he was a teen:
gambling, hustling (he tried to lay down on me many years ago so he could raise the bet), and tourneys.
He can be a good guy and all, but as far as pressure;
there are others who are better dealing with it currently.
Viola. And so you have the present team.
Hey, Shawn. Nice ranking.
When using those metrics, namely attitude, work ethic, congeniality and results, in one "mix,"
I totally agree that Hohmann is number one.
My number two would be Ralph Souquet, and number three is SVB.
I wouldn't declare Feijen even in the top five.
He's apt to go the way of Mika and throw silent fits at times.
Just my opinion. Good post.
And yet so many of them move to the USA to play pool? Wonder why.
I'll tell you why. It's is impossible in Europe to make a living just playing pool unless you live in Netherlands (and being a monster) or be Ralf Souquet (sponsors), there isn't enough tournaments/tours. There is very little action here :frown:
As an example, the winner of an Eurotour gets only 3500€, you don't cover the trip expenses unless you reach top16... and that's very very difficult
