Corey Deuel's X Breaker

Why do people gotta meddle in other peoples business. Noone knows who said what, where, or when (until Richard posted his response.) so how does this turn from a 'who wants to buy a cue thread' to a 'Richard and Corey are screwing each other and are both idiots thread'. I havent seen these cues, but by Richards reputation i am sure that they are great cues.

I am sorry to see this thread go this way as well, but I am even sorrier that no one agrees with me at least in concept. I read all the time how pool players can't make a living at the game. One of their problems may be they are treated by promoters and retailers like they are worthless and they themselves seem to share the same perception. I was at a large boat show and Greg Norman was there walking around, he likes boats and owns one of the nicest yachts in the world. At one of the boats on display they took a picture of him standing in front it. In less then a half hour they were back from a quick photo place with a blow up of the picture and put it at their display. In no time they were told to remover it. I doubt they had any bad intentions but then again they may tell people Mr. Norman is considering buying one of their boats. As rich as Greg Norman is, he can't just let it be done or set precedent that he will permit it. It may have seemed petty but that is just the way it is.

A carpet company once used Dan Marino in an ad that read their company was used by Miami Dolphin Dan Marino. It was true but they can't print it and they were sued, Mr. Marino's name is a product they have no right to. Pool players have little going for them as it is, and the ones whose names and images have become marketable can't and should not be giving it away. I was shocked to read in one of the replies that I was in fact correct and the deal was, they gave him a cue and could in return use his image on their web site. As they do the best they can to pump out cues and make I am sure tens of thousands and maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars if they have a good product, he gets a free cue he has to try to sell. It don't work that way and pool players better wake up and realize it. I doubt few players even have an agent to look out for their interests. Anyway, that was the basis of my original comments whether I expressed them well or not but they were sincere and I am just sorry so many of the players think they are worthless.

I like the way you spin it that you were "correct" when in reality you were freaking out that they probably had no such arrangement and he was an idiot for letting it happen, the website was committing fraud, and Deuel should be embarassed for selling the cue.

Sure, I suppose if 2 + 2 = 19, you were "correct".

I did say to in an earlier post he was maybe given the cue in exchange for the use of his image. But before they posted an explanation gave them the benefit of the doubt that it may have not been Coreys fault and they may have just done it but he should remedy what had happened. Then they posted what turned out to be my first assumption he had foolishly made a deal for the cue. Pool players taking things like cues in exchange for indorsements is the equivalent of collecting aluminum cans on the side of the road. It puts them so low on the ladder financially, while manufactures reap all the rewards it is sad. If that is all they can get for a life time of devotion to the game they should say no, and not lower themselves to handouts. I don't know about you but the day I can't make an honest living at what I have chosen to do I will find something else to do. What I won't do is be someone's fool working for nothing

Tap Tap Tap !!!

I've bought three cues(not the x-breaker) from Richard and have had my tips replaced. His service and integrity in my opinion is first class. Two local pros have bought his X-breaker so it must be a decent cue.Another B level player I know personally told me he can jump over a ball, one ball width apart.

All the bullshit based on the assumptions can be really bad.Furthermore, I personally have no problems with dealers selling there stuff on a Billiard forums, providing they are regular posters and contribute other stuff as well.If they only show up to sell a product and that's it....then that's a different story. Personally I like to hear about new innovations in pool. After all....this is a Billiard's forum.JMO, RJ

I think this is a good idea...why does he need a break cue to begin with, unless it was a sledgehammer fitted with a woman's powder puff on the end for a tip.

Hey...there's an idea to go along with the Woodpecker cue line...the Powder Puff Break Cue Line by Corey. You can still slam away at it like a REAL man, but get the powder puff soft break at the same time.
:D :D LMFAO, that's pretty damn funny!! :D :D

I have also dealt with Richard on a few occasions and his equipment and service are excellent.

Macguy, I agree with what you are saying, that one free cue for advertising may seem like a small endorsement offer, but like I said before, pool players are underpaid and I don't see people lining up to do much more.

If anyone wants to give me a free X-Breaker in exchange for a picture of me breaking with it, I'm open to discussion ;)

Stop saying that it is embarassing for Corey to sell his damn stick. Think about it. He is a person too and it is an opportunity to have a stick that was used by him at a reasonable price. He is an amazing player and its our privilage to watch him and his genius on a pool table. Instead of questioning his reasons for selling the stick, why doesn't someone who wants it buy it, everyone else just shut up.

Also why be so skeptic about the intentions of someone trying to sell a product. He is trying to sell his cues and there is nothing wrong with that. Everyone that complains about pool players making no money, there are also a great deal of people that offer great cues at reasonable prices that don't make much or have to stop because they don't make anything. Why don't you show support for the game you play and try it out and see if you like it or not. Then make the descision of weather or not you want to purchase it.
