Fish said:pardon my ignorance, what is the common diameter of the handle at the point where the handle meets the forearm ?
can you go with a 1 inch core ?
Fish said:Since the outer wood is "pretty" .........much useless, does 7/8 core handle be enough to support a cue ?
dave sutton said:ok id like to add to the question. does anyone have experience with exotic wood handles under the wrap?
let me explain...
Yes, it works just fine
i want to make a few titlist tribute using martins titlist veneers. they re dead on!!!
Yes they are really nice
short splice forearms but i want to test usine the same piece of rosewood for the handle and buttsleeve. just nut a wrap groove like maple and put a wrap over rosewood. maybe this will give it a full splice like feel. i know it will make the cue a little heavier but if i dont use a bulky ss joint a nice 4 oz shaft to offest and no wieghtbolt i think it could come out to a decent weight like 19.5 total.
Still has a A joint, so no full splice feel, depending on rosewood, could be lighter than maple
has anyone tried this???

dave sutton said:im gonna try it. maybe ill just core the last 6 inches or so. im using brazilian rosewood by the way
