What are the best woods currently available for coring if you were considering coring a handle? The considerstions I'm looking for are of course, weight issues, stability etc?

J deuce, Have you tried the search feature? Coring has been discussed in depth many times before. There's good information available. I don't think there is a consensus on "best" coring woods. Many hardwoods will work well. I like straightgrained purpleheart and maple with good tone. I also like laminated maple. If a little weight is needed in the forearm, like with some burls, I love bocote. I've also come to appreciate the merits of a core that is .700 to .750 in diameter versus .625".
