Cortland wrap

As long as there's enough of it, I don't see why not but there are a few things you should consider.

If you decide to have it have it put on the a cue, the wrap channel would likely have to be cut deeper than what's common for linen. This line is silk and while I'm guessing it would press down smooth, how much it will press down is anyone's guess. That'll make it tricky to know for sure how deep to actually cut the channel.

Once a channel is cut deeper than standard, there can be a lot involved in "building it back up" in the event you or someone else would like to have different wrap put on.

Will it look good, feel nice, or hold up well? I can't tell you. Has someone used it before, probably. Did they have good results, maybe. Silk was used on many cues in the early 20th century, but it fell out of favor for linen for what ever reasons.

IMHO - the absolutely last thing you would ever want to do to a silk wrap
would be to press it down like modern linen wraps.

Also, it would feel wonderful

Linen replaced silk because it was cheaper and would last the life of the cue.
They never pressed linen in those days either.

Tho we can all identify with your mission to find a Cortland wrap, you are about
half a century too late.

Without a time machine, I don't see much hope.

The only Cortland Linen wrap that;s still available from some sellers is #9. Joe Pechauer was selling it but his supply is getting thin and might not be available any longer.

The last sale at Pechauer a couple of mths ago was $80 - 50 yds #9. I got mine there a year ago and paid $60 shipped.

Forget all hope of any other Cortland Linen other than #9 (white w/ green speck). I had a sale thread offering to pay $175 for some #12 and never got any sellers willing to part with any. I increased my offer to $200 for 50 yds #12 (white w/ black speck) and still no offers.

Good luck with whatever you decide and I suggest you start a WTB thread asking for sellers to contact you...mention a price you'll pay....figure in the neighborhood of around $100 for 50 yds Cortland #9.

p.s. Silk admittedly feels great but doesn't hold up as well as Cortland. Silk will eventually fray & when it starts, it doesn't seem to stop I've been told.
