Just wondering how much money all you guys spend per week playing. Like 20 bucks?

if i played as much as i wanted to i would always be broke lol but i usually just go to a local pub on thursday and play for free. the local pool halls are geared towards kids aswell with more video games and computers than tables, 2 hours there cost me 15 bucks so i would rather go to the pub once a week and shoot for 6 hours for free.

back in the day I played so much, I had to start working at the room to break even!:D

now, I paid about $3000 for my at home room, and the table. I figured I used to spend maybe $30 a week on table time, so thats about $1500 a year, so after 2 years I break even.

yes, you all can use my post as leverage to sell putting a table at home to your significant other!:D then you have to invite me over to play some!

i usually play at a place where i just tip thed bartendera few dollars. all they have are eight footers, but i guess thats ok with me; sort of.

whenever i travel for business i can spend up to 100 bucks a week. hell, im not paying for it so i live it up.

Mmmm

Well at league on Thursdays I spend 10 bucks, the rest of the week I don't spend a dime cause my Wed league the bar we play for pays the tab. Then the rest of the week I am shooting at my house so that is free too!!!

I stopped playing last year because of health reasons but the last few years that I played in poolrooms I spent over $100 a week. Most weeks some kind/unknowing person I was playing refunded all my money and enough for a few drinks.:D Johnnyt

I have a place like that, too. Five bucks gets 4-5 hours of pool for me and my boy, plus a couple glasses of Sprite. If we're hungry, we buy food. We're there at least five days a week.

I'm in China so its a little different but a bucks a buck anywhere though if you look at the exchange rate, a US dollar gets you eight chinese dollars.
I just came back from a two hour session in a pool hall. Cost eight chinese dollars. Day before played in a bar and spent ten chinese bucks on tabletime and something more on a drink and munchies. Other night, played couple hours for five bucks. Lot of places charge fifty cents a game which the loser pays. So its not much.
Per week. About seventy on table time, twenty five on taxi and thirty on drinks. One hundred and twenty five. Thats ten percent of my income.

if and when I actually get out to play, I spend MAYBE $10. if I go to my mother's boyfriends' room, I don't pay cause I play the "houseman", his nephew Scott. if I go to the gold crown, I play maybe an hour cause there is never anyone there to play, so it's like $3.60. if I go to the room in north east owned by Chris and Dan who both visit here, it's $5 all day  . I don't play much anymore due to the excitement being gone because of people not playing in this city, but if it ever comes back  , ohh...$20 is not enough...more like $35-40. what can I say, I would rather play when others are there to play. if I wanted to play with myself, haha, I'd stay home!!

WOW i needed a slide rule to get through this one. ;)

i usually play for money and end up paying out of my winnings too, but hey thats still money i would have in my pocket normally so im still paying it lol. My room has a "play from 5 til closing for $5 tuesday night", so now thats in effect i probably spend about 50 to 80 a week in pool time.

Per Week?

League fees = $18

Tournament Fees = $10

Practice time = $25

Transportation = $10

Alcohol = A hell of a lot more than anything above!

its about 10 sing bucks an hour here..(abt 4 us i think) so i go about 15 hours a week. not considering when i lose if money is on the line... which is normally the case...:(

40 maybe because I have a 50% discount on table time or I play for free with the house-pro.

I play for money and keep stats on how much I make, lose, spend, etc. I have winning weeks and losing weeks, but even after expenses I end up ahead most months. The pool hall I play at is very expensive, and they get about $180 per week of my winnings on average. This is for my table time and my drinks (iced tea) playing 4-5 times per week. It is customary for the winner to pay the time here, and I have had long sessions (14-16 hours) where I had to pay over $150 just for the table time. One night I had a very long session, and my wife was there with a friend running up a bar tab while they watched. Between the bar tab, the table time, and tipping the staff to stay late, I only got to keep $35 of the $420 I beat my opponent out of. The house always wins.

My expense numbers would be similar to DaPoets':

This entire thread should be mandatory reading to anyone considering opening a "Pool Hall". Maybe we drink/eat/drink/drink/carouse more in my local hangouts. :p

That's exactly why I am buying a pool table.

Right now I play anywhere from 10-15 hours per week which cost me $12-18 weekly. Not including drinks and food.

Mondays - $0
Tuesdays - $4.00/hr. usually 2-3 hours so $12 practise
Wednesdays - $8 league dues + $5 for tables
Thursdays - $8 league dues table time incl.
Fridays $5 Tournament entry ( 1-2 times a month)
Saturdays $7 Tournament entry ( 1-2 times a month)
Sunday $5-10 Tournament entry every week.
I guess that brings me back to Mondays.
