Could an admin create a "Used Table Buyers guide" sticky?

Im in the market for a table so I ended up here. I'm a member of a million forums and helped mod a few so i know very well how to use the search function. What im asking is one of you guys or everyone could just post in the thread the order of their preference of tables and what they should cost used. Now I know that's subjective from person to person, but im sure for the most part the quality tables would end up on the top of everyone's quick lists. So i can just come here and know what to look for, the differences, and about how much to pay.

My budget is preferably under 1000 but I could fork over 1500 or 2k if its going to be that big of a difference.

What I'm thinking so far.

1. Gold Crown @1500$

2. Diamond pro 1500$?

3. Olhausen with accu-fast bumpers. (the emblem saying accufast). 500-1000$

I'm thinking the olhausen for now, it seems to be liked and its for sale a few miles from my house. It has the accufast logo.

First of all, this thread belongs in the For Sale / Wanted section.

Second of all, there are way too many stickies as is. People don't want to have to scroll halfway down the page to see the first new posts in their desired forum.

Third, a very very small percentage of forum readers are going to buy their own table. Stickies are for information that 50%+ of the forums readers should/are advised to read..

Fourth, I see you are new here... Don't take this post personal. I am just pointing out salient points about general forum use. Welcome to AZBilliards!

I agree with you about the clutter. Perhaps the moderator can move them into the Product Review forum, or create a forum just for stickies. Call it Stickyland, Here be Stickies, or No Sticky, no Laundry (wait, I'll save to name my next league team).

Well there's a million threads with questions on table quality vs price vs other tables. The problem is I forget what Table i just read about being better than this one, when i read the next comparison of tables in the next thread.

Well maybe you're right, the "table review" section has 2 threads.


Anyway, does this seem like a bad deal?

500 bucks for the table and spectator bench.

Short answer is.. Depends on your level of play and what you want to gain from your table.

Do you want to be one of the best in your area? I do. At home in Florida, I have a 9 foot Diamond Pro/Am. It's the only choice for me.

That table would be fine for that price, but personally, I would have a table mechanic tighten up the pockets in such a way as they still play normal.

Any table from a well known company (Valley, Olhausen, Diamond, Brunswick, Gandy, etc..) can be a fine table, as long as it is properly set up by a good mechanic.

So I went ahead and picked up the used olhausen yesterday. I got a young guy that said he'd been moving tables for 8 years to disassemble, reassemble and level it at my house. He re-felted it for half off so it cost me 300 total for the move and re-felt. The carpet is going to settle, so i figure i may have to tweak it myself. He said the slates are perfectly level, but i can just level the table by using shims under the legs if i need to, or just call him and he'll come out. Is releveling it that easy if the "slates are level"?

What do ya'll think?

In my opinion... I think you did awesome! 500 for the table and Bench, nice! The price on the move and recover was a steal. I'm kind of a pool newbie but if you're like me, I couldn't care less about brand name this, inlay that. Give me a table with good rails, new felt and level slate... That's all I need
