Could This be a Balabushka Cue

I have no idea what you wrote. Care to elaborate?

Model 16 Palmers, or the Third Catalog J, or the scarab cue, etc.. normally do not have an original by Palmer label window. This cue has the window which makes it special. The prong area, or blank, since it was furnished to Palmer, by Gus Szamboti seems to be very clean and nicely done.

I have a friend that owns this cue but has no clue who made it. I've seen Balabushkas before and there is one pictured under this same thread that looks something like this one. Please give me your opinion. The cue is the left one in the two pictures. The other is a Palmer. I know that because it has (Original by Palmer) in the butt piece.

Is the left hand cue a three point cue? Are the veneers in the points seamless at the pointed end?

Another question for all the cue catalog collectors out there that might be following this thread. Does anyone have the Catalog Viking used to have that showed the cue parts they sold? Gordon told me he decided to not sell any more parts to cuemakers, but at one time had a catalog with all kinds of cue parts that he sold. That would be a great find if someone had one.

I might have a scan of that catalog. I'll have a look.

That looks like a four point cue to me. Best to make sure though.

EDIT: I don't think I have that catalog scan. I still have random stuff to go through but it wasn't where it should have been.

thanks for the information. Any idea what it might be worth? I might be able to buy it if I knew what I could resell it for....
thanks in advance...

I'll offer it to you first of course. I really doubt if I can buy it reasonably but if I had any clue what the value is...., it would help.

Are you unable to find out the answers to the questions on the left hand cue?

I have heard that 1000 times... as a dealer I would have to offer you less, so that would probably take me out of the running... so.. golden carrots are only eaten by golden bunnies and starving idiots... which I am neither.

Allrighty then.

Well you can clearly see 2 full width points so it's certainly not a 3 pointer Chris.

I don't see two full points and to think as wide apart as those are that there is that much gap hanging out on both sides on the front is unlikely. You may be right but I still think 3 points, but have not got the answer. The focus has been moved in this thread to the Palmer and the Mali???? holds no interest for the OP since it is definitely not the hoped for Bushka. But I am intrigued by that cue and would like to solve the mystery. I guess we can just call it a "custom Mali" and move on.
