Country with the best pool players?

Duhhhh

I'm picking Philippines!

Here's how bad it is - its not that if you looked at the best 10 players in the world about half would be Filipino.(Pag,Efren,Orcullo,Lee Van,Alcano)

or that half of the top 20 are Filipino....

I think where its really scary is that of the top 400 players in the world I really believe that OVER 300 WOULD BE FILIPINO!

Thats how bad it is and its getting worse! (from our standpoint)

A lot of this stuff is subjective, but definitely would include Taiwan, Philippines, and USA. Its hard to compare international players sometimes because people join different tournaments and a lot of Taiwanese players have never stepped foot in the USA to compete in the major tournaments here, as opposed to Filipino players that visit here every now and then. Taiwanese players dominates the tours in Asia, however Filipino players have probably made more notable achievements in American tournaments. And American players have it good, there are so many tournaments to compete in here, whereas in Taiwan you really need to get a coach or mentor if you wanna go pro there because even the local tournaments are so tough. I'm not too sure about the Philippines, but I would not be surprised that the local competition is tough as well..

I would say Taiwan. I have a close friend that I met through pool that is from there and he tells me all the stories about his country, such as pool in school. I don't have many Philipino friends that were actually born there. I've met some Philipinos that don't play pool, but it seems almost every Taiwanese person that I come across does! Also, its players seem to becoming recognizable names.
