Hi all. As you can see on picture above, I have a really nice chip on my cue butt. So I wanted to ask- is it possible to something with it, just for "first aid", not to look (and feel) so nasty? Until I find someone to refinish it.

This is my break cue tip. It is some kind of phenolic tip-ferrule combo, not sure what is it. I do not like this very much, and I want to install Samsara j/b tip. So, can I just flat this "tip" part, and glue new tip on it? Will is stay on this ferrule, or should I need to replace the ferrule too?

Thanks in advance.

The chip can be "band-aided" using either super glue or clear fingernail polish. Clean with just a drop and let dry. On the ferrule you should really have someone that has a cue repair lathe face that and install the tip.

I use automotive clear to repair chips. I have a couple small bottles that I use to mix up small portions and fill the chip. The sooner you do this after the chip the better as dirt in the chip can effect the results. You may have to fill it a couple times until it is just higher than the finish on the cue. Then sand a buff and depending on the finish used on the cue, the chip will be barely visible to invisible.

Most cue repair people could do this repair.

I don't know why you want to change the tip, but the one you have will be better if it is FLATTER. Break tips work best when they are flat...JER

Tap Tap Tap.

No sense writing it twice. This is exactly what I would tell you.

Give it to a CM or CTec and you should have it back in a couple of days.

Ah, I just noticed that you are in Croatia. Maybe not such good luck in finding a cue-maker or cue repair. Do you have any buddies that work in automotive body repair or auto-body paint shops?
It's such a small chip to send it too far for repair.

That is exactly my problem KJ... And that is why I'm looking for some "second best" solutions beside refinish. I'll try to do something as suggested, and will post a picture if I succeed.
Break tip- I really do not know why I want to change it. :o I just love to play pool, I like cue building, and i enjoy in trying different stuff. Shafts, tips, ferrules, cues, everything. :) So I want to try leather break tip, that is all.

Thanks everyone for nice answers.
