I just noticed a crack in the ferrel of my 314 predator shaft...what are my options on repair?

If all else fails, you can get a hold of KJ. I have a feeling your shaft would not be covered and might be classified under normal wear and tear.

Are you the original owner?

I'll say this much a respected member of the board who takes good care of his equipment had the ferrule crack on his 314/2 shaft not once, not twice but 3 times.

First two times predator repaired the ferrule under warranty.......the third time they said they would not repair it. This person takes good and well care of the cues and doesn't ever even hit with a super hard stroke as this person plays very controlled and within his limits as a player. They never use scotchbrite or sandpaper as i taught them the correct way.

This upset said member enough that b/c of a construction issue w/ wall thickness it has a tendency to crack.....tho yes it does perform well.....its still prone to failure via stress cracks.

The user GAVE me the cue so I could fix it and sell it.......gave it to me....just wants a jumper that I make in return.....which is cool. But thats strong for someone to flat out give away a 300+$ cue thats a few years old and dead straight, says alot about how some people feel about customer service........said person will never spend money with predator again and I can't blame them.

The question in doing the repair is to dowel or not to dowel?? Doweling will make it stronger but will add some to the front end mass.
To fix it without doweling you will need the predator thin walled special ferrule.

Thanks for all the responses guys! I am the original owner and I hope that they will repair this under warranty. Thanks for the link!

I had lunch in there just the other day. They have a tenderloin sandwich that is very...what? He said cracked ferrule? Not Cracker Barrel?
My bad. :)

I thought "Cracked Ferrule" was a grunge band in the 90s. Did that song "Big Balls in Portland."
