Thanks alot Jun.The weird thing with this cue is I usually play with predator but find this cue deflects less which is really odd for non laminated shafts. If you think of a deal drop me a messege,Thanks

scott's a good guy. no worries about dealing with him.

one thing tho, laminated shafts have anything to do with deflection. it's more for consistency in the direction of the grain in the wood. the thing that makes it deflect less is the reduction in the weight near the front of the shaft which has nothing to do with the shaft being laminated. more to do with shorter ferrules and foam core in the front of the cue.

Actually, if you really want the dirt on laminated shafts, it has nothing to do with radial consistency. Pure Marketing Hype (PMH). What it does is saves the manufacturer TIME and MONEY when making a crapload of shafts. Normal wood has to be selected, seasoned, and turned down in a slower process in order to maintain straightness. Also, most customers want clean wood - no mineral lines or sugar marks. When making laminated shafts, you do not have to use a select grade of wood. That's why there is so much variance in the colour of Predator and OB shafts. The time to actually MAKE the shaft is higher with the laminated wood, but once you have the blank done, the laminating process saves you a bunch of time in the turning down process.

Making a laminated shaft allows the manufacturer to spend less time making the shaft from start to finish, and they make you pay a premium because of the PMH. Trick to low deflection - drill out the end of the shaft and play with a flexible ferrule.

In a test for radial consistency some years back, Predator finished middle of the pack. The winner was Schon, a non-laminated shaft. Go figure.

well it's a given that they dont have to use higher quality wood, u can see this when u look at some of the shafts that have marks on it. and the glue makes it less prone to warping.

i was simply giving the official reasoning behind the laminated shaft theory.

and a bump for a nice cue. maybe u should post a pic of the case it comes in.
