Creak from A-Joint

I have a cue that seems to have developed a slight creak that I believe is coming from the A-Joint. I can pick up the cue, holding it by the wrap, and a with a bit of a movement can get a tiny creak from it occasionally. This will happen with either shaft and I can even hear it without a shaft. It's very subtle, but it's there.

How big of a deal is it to fix that? Is it likely to just get worse as time goes one?

I know I could send it in for a repair but this cue has always had just that little bit of magic for me...just feels "right" from hit to balance, etc. It's also just as straight as any cue I've ever seen, years after it came off the lathe. It doesn't make a sound when shooting, usually only notice it when I set it down or pick it up off the table, that kind of thing.

I'm currently shooting with something else (playing with LD to see if it can help my game) but I'm still hesitant to have anything done to the cue for fear of it losing that little bit of magic it holds for me.

Thanks...I figured it was probably a big job. Maybe I'll just hang onto it for now and see how it goes with my little LD experiment before trying to send it back to the maker.
