Creative or alternative lighting for 9' pool table?

I'm getting a 9' in my 2 car garage and was wondering if anyone has any unique or nontraditional lighting set ups? Also has anyone built their own lighting system and howd it work out? I could just go with the standard 4 lamp system, but I wanted to explore other options or what other people have used, built or seen before that they thought worked out great.

LED's

Somebody was building a light using six or eight hundred LED's a few years ago, maybe more than a few years. Should turn up with a search.

Not sure what type of ceiling you have, but here's what I did. Used black plastic ceiling tiles for the whole ceiling and translucent ceiling tiles above the pool table. There are two large florescent lights (eight t8 bulbs) providing the light over the table. These ceiling tiles are great since they don't stain and are super light weight. Plus they are priced about the same as regular ceiling tiles and come in different colors and sytles.
