Matt's cues are nice. He pays close attention to detail, always has. Been building cues about as long as I have. He & I learned a lot together in the beginning, and still share woods & such. We work together cutting & milling shaft logs & other figured domestic hardwoods. His cues aesthetically look a little different than mine but are built very similar and with the same attention to wood quality. He's actually a better wood worker & carpenter than I am. The dude's crafty with his hands, always has been.
Of the three brothers (we all build cues & other woodworks and/or crafts), he got the craftsmanship talent. My eldest brother is a top class taxidermist. I was a machinist. And Matt has always been good at everything. We all played pool our entire lives. Then 10-12 years ago we all three got in to building cues. I went the furthest with it because I had the most spare time. I got out of the military to be a stay at home dad, where they both have full time jobs & other priorities. Matt began doing a little more work a couple years ago & has been gaining momentum. He still doesn't do much, but loves doing it. One idea is that when all our kids are grown & gone, the three of us might work together in one shop. Would be nice. But time will tell.
Anyway, point is that Matt does good work. He's a lot like me but older, wiser, better looking, smarter, more talented, funnier, and just all around a better dude. Ok, well maybe he's nothing like me LOL
