I think you should just shut your c*cksucker about Shawn, Wong. Your guy is obviously too scared to play him if y'all can't back up your claims to play him. What did y'all think was going to happen??hkwong said:LISTEN THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING IT AINT ME THAT BACKED DOWN......I WAS TOLD TO WOLF ...THEN HE CHANGED THE GAME NOT ME............I STILL THINK SHAWN CAN'T WIN AND I'LL BET IF IT EVER HAPPENS...HE CAN'T BEAT ANYONE 15 AHEAD..........HE IS A BIG LAME HORSE...............

I found you to be quite rude in your original post and said as much in my reply. I then left things alone as you bantered back & forth with a few people on here. Since you've once again felt the need to call Shawn out, I find the need to call you out and re-iterate that you're a classless act and the epitome of what gives pool & it's incumbents a bad rap. Once again you've felt the need to pick on Shawn for no reason. Ok, the first time it was because you were woofing at him. What's your excuse this time? You/Chris/whoever decided to back out of the game you woofed about and yet you find it necessary to call Shawn names. I'm sorry, the common sense part of my brain fails to see why you felt the need to do that.hkwong said:LISTEN THAT'S WHAT IM SAYING IT AINT ME THAT BACKED DOWN......I WAS TOLD TO WOLF ...THEN HE CHANGED THE GAME NOT ME............I STILL THINK SHAWN CAN'T WIN AND I'LL BET IF IT EVER HAPPENS...HE CAN'T BEAT ANYONE 15 AHEAD..........HE IS A BIG LAME HORSE...............
MikeJanis said:Alright, since you followed directions from someone else and you woofed for them and then they backed down, I'll let you off the hook and forgive all if.........YOU TAKE BACK THAT LAME HORSE STATEMENT !
Shawn's a pretty good guy and does not deserve any trash talk. You know it and I know it. Especially since he had no part of our conversations.
Thank you in advance for your compliance with my request.
Respectfully,

What do you like or dislike about me (how am I percieved) or my game. No holds barred, I'm easy going and not easily offended. I want you guys to be honest. I want to project a positive attitude and be an ambassador (for lack of a better term) for the game. Honest answers will help me understand how you the fans and sponsor's see me. Being a top ranked pro, it's important to know how you're percieved if you sincerely want to project a good image of the game to the public. Without you, the fans of pool, I wouldn't be what I am or where I am today. Thanks for all your support.
NOW, C'MON & LET ME HAVE IT!![]()
First of all, I am sorry you feel that way.Hustlin' Hank said:Since you asked. I played you in my first and only Viking 9 ball tournament a couple years ago. I drew you first and I was glad that I was getting to play a much better player than I. It turned out that I was highly disappointed. You whined so much about my racking that I told you to rack your own. Yes, that was a big mistake on my part in regards to trying to win. You won 7-4. Basically, you sucked the fun out of my day. I didn't expect to win, I was there to learn a few things, shoot better players and have some fun. I did learn not to be an ass.
After racking each game three times or more , it still wasn't good enough for you. I gave you good racks but I felt you were trying to intimidate me, which you did. If that is what it takes for a so called "pro" to beat an unknown old man, well, so be it.
As a "Pro", you should be a roll model, especially for the younger players.
The above is my thoughts of you. Since you asked for criticism, I assume you are trying to be a better roll-model. I commend you for trying to improve your personality and think it will help you in the future in regards to sponsorships.
Good Luck
Sometimes when your playing bad you just gotta struggle through it.thoffen said:Hi Shawn,
I watched you play (though not intently) for a match at the Predator Florida Open. I believe you were playing Mika, though I'm not quite sure. The only thing I noticed was that you were playing a lot of positions too far away from your next ball. There were a couple of times I thought you could choose a different pattern that brought you closer to the next ball but provided more margin for error in speed regarding getting on the right side of your next shot. Your game was maybe a bit too cautious -- not a bad idea, but you have to be confident that your shot selection allows you to be aggressive and still provide a solid margin of error.
You were getting out, though.
As far as a nickname, how about Shawn PUTnam NICKname -- Sputnik ala the USSR satellite (though I guess you wouldn't have a connection there).

I can't afford to break a bad rack and then blame it on you after the fact.
If I check the rack and break it, I only have myself to blame.
And again. If you want to play with better players, Obviously we know alot about the rack. So if I didn't like the racks you were giving me, They were probably bad racks and you just didn't know any better.
Instead of blasting me on the internet for wanting a good rack, the same good rack I would give you, ask me for help and I would have bent over backwords to help you.
SINSERLY,
Shawn Putnam
Ofcourse I whould not have helped him in the middle of our match.Brickman said:WAIT AMINUTE SHAWN....This guy isnt blasting you , he is simply telling you the truth , the very same thing you asked for. I like you and watching you play , but this guys really had a bad experience with you and , simply replied to you as such.
And I dont know too many people who are going to ask their OPPONENT , to help them in a touney do you? And had he asked , do you really expect us to believe you would have helped him while at the same time trying to beat him? I MEAN REALLY SHAWN. If you didnt really want the truth , why did you ask.....and I mean this post with all the respect in the world......but it seems to me that you had the intentions of complaining enuff to get him to let you rack your own, and like you said you " pros" know all the tricks, because its how you earn your living......but this poor guy come out with hopes up to get to enjoy his moment among the stars and you knocked the crap out of that ....didnt you.
LIKE I SAID SHAWN I LIKE YOU AND YOUR GAME , AND MOST TIMES I AM ALWAYS PULLIN FOR YA....BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU HURT THIS GUYS OPINION OF YOU....and instead of telling him what he did wrong by posting to exactly what you asked, you might should have just explained why you did it , thanked him for being honest and moved on.....instead of defending your impersonation of Earl that day!
Thank you, that means alot to me.9balldiva said:Shawn,
I got to see you play at the Predator Open in Jacksonville, FL in May of this year. I was quite impressed. That was my first opportunity to see many pros I haven't seen play before. You signed a 9 bal for me, and I think Robb Saez introduced me to you.
Anyhow, this about criticism: I liked your game. I watch pros and try to take things fom them for my game. One of the things I took from you was your precision. Each shot was just like the previous one. Your shot alignment was great, your preshot routine was flawless.
Keep it up, you'll be a world beater soon!

Hustlin' Hank said:Shawn,
In the title of this thread you asked for criticism. Also, you said "let me have it!". So, being the fine guy that I am, I did what you asked.
Seriously, I just voiced my opinion. It is how I felt. Since reading your reply, I may have been a little in error, for that I am sorry. If I had known you would be willing to help me with the racking problem, I would have, and should have, asked. It is my loss. I didn't see any problems, but then again, I only shoot for fun and profit.
I would appreciate you telling me and the others on here what you look for in a rack. What is the most common problems with your opponents racking? I asked this because I was always under the impression that as long as all the balls are touching each other, it was a good rack.
Hank <~~~willing to learn
9balldiva said:I think Shawn will attest, that the thing wrong with others racks is they don't always make sure it is all tight. In a sense this can benefit the breaker...because we all know where gaps are creates easier paths for pocketing balls. The problem with others racks (when rack your own) is that many of them are racking mechanics. They know just how to rack them to make the corner ball and 9 out of 10 time get position!
Shawn Putnam said:Put youself in my spot. How would you like it if someone gave you bad racks and the VIKING TOUR was your only way of feeding your family at the time.
