hi all,

many of you from the NY/NJ area know Carmen Lombardo. this is just an Fyi to let you know that he has re-opened Crown Billiards in Pompton Plains, NJ.

I was there today for the first time and it's a very nice room (still undergoing remodeling) with about 9 - 9' tables and 8 - 7' tables, a ping pong table in a separate room and some video games.

the place is very spacious, tables very clean and balls clean and polished. he's also setting up a station to do cue repair, tips, etc.

Tomorrow, Monday the 11th, he is going to have an APA rep there for anyone who is interested in joining a league and if your there to check out the league play, pool will be free from 7PM - 8PM.

He's also scheduled a regular Saturday tournament at 1PM and is looking to set up a tournament 1 night during the week in the future.

Rates are reasonable: $5 hr today (was finished before 6PM....not sure if there is a higher rate after 6PM. Also, day pass for $8 during the week and $12 on weekends. Not sure if these are good after 6PM as well.

Good luck to Carmen.

My Home Town

I grew up in Pompton Plains and know Pompton Lakes well. That is the closest pool hall ever built to that town as far as I know. It is a small world.
