CSI INVITATIONAL 8-BALL (July 23-25, 2014) 16 Players (Winner $8K/ Runner up $5K)

I'm happy with the ruling. Who wants to see the brothers in the final anyway. It was painful to watch the 10 ball finals. I hope Shane wins. CSI made the correct decision in advancing Shane from the round robin. This is a two part event and since Ralf DQ'ed in the first part of the event Shane is the advancing player. It's how we did in in D league softball..

Technically speaking I agree with every one, however, lets give CSI the ability to explain before jumping to a conclusion. Maybe we don't know something that they do, just seems funny that this wasn't discussed among the players before it developed into this type of a situation. Obviously plans were understood for Ralph and there may have been a understanding among the players and agreed on..maybe.:embarrassed2:

Bill Incardona

I would have agreed with this until I just walked over to get something to drink and hard Ozzy telling Mike Dechaine "we wanted this to be special. We put this on as a show, not a tournament. now people are crying because they don't like a decision we made."

I'm all for watching a good show, but I think maybe the foreign players have a different idea since there's prize money involved. Perhaps the first question for the next CSI podcast is "how much was the appearance fee for the show?"

Right on for Ozzy. Agree 1000%

Everyone knows Shane loses this right...????

Right>>>>???

The only thing I will say is that if Shane wins here there will be some drama for the finals. The younger Ko out to revenge his older brother's unjust demise.

Yeah... I hope Ko comes out wearing a headband....hiiiiiiiiiyyaaaaaa

BS

Two separate events. Someone has to advance to the second half

What other explanation can there be? In other sports, when a player forfeit, there is no other player or whatever that takes his place. The other player is awarded a walkover and he proceeds to next stage. Period
They cannot explain this mess. LOL
Only way they can get out of this mess is to say this is a last minute Challenge match 8 ball. Whether Ko Pin Yi win or lose he will move to final to play Ko Ping Chung
No matter what , Ko Pin Yi should be the other finalist playing his brother
Sure some may say it is boring and another 2 KO final but we should let those who deserve it to be the finalists. If this goes thru, why would the Taiwanese or foreigners comes to play in future. This 8 ball tourney is tainted

Shane lost and was out, once you're out you're out.
This is BS. If the Ko brothers earned their way to both
finals then they should play in the finals.

I've never seen BS like this in a big tournament, and hope I never do again.

I guess we disagree.

You don't give merit to two part events and that someone has to advance from the round robin?

Have you ever played in a two part round robin first half and single elimination final bracket event?

As I said, if this rule was in place before the tournament started, then I can understand the decision. If the decision was made on the fly to advance Shane after Ralf had to forfeit though, this was wrong.

Shane wins 9-6, will play the younger Ko in about 20 minutes.

We'll see if the Ko's come back next year after this posterior Van BOeNING.

I guess Shane is the best in the world after all

It doesn't matter if it's a fifty part tournament, once your out you're out.
I wish Ko refused to play then they probably would have given Shane a BYE, Ha Ha Ha
