CSI INVITATIONAL 8-BALL (July 23-25, 2014) 16 Players (Winner $8K/ Runner up $5K)

Hungarian is 100% correct. This isn't a big deal at all, except to a very small but vocal minority of SVB haters on this forum. I'd even wager that if it were Dennis or Daz or someone other than Shane, the "outrage" wouldn't be nearly as vitriolic.

I like Shane a lot, and I always root for him against international fields. I just think the decision to put another player back in the tournament after Ralf's forfeit was extremely unfair to the other players, unless that rule was already in place before the event started.

I'm not defending CSI, but to answer this question, it doesn't take long to think of qualifying matches, tournaments, and competitions that the guy who qualified to advance couldn't make it to the next level of tournament so they gave the next guy the spot. Happens all the time.

It might make more sense for formats that don't have the qualifier and finals on the same day.

Again, not defending the CSI decision.
Tap tap tap.

I have a couple hundred Accu-stats matches, tons of Pool books, TAR match DVD's
and I will never support any event CSI has anything to do with.
What you did was wrong and you know it, I don't care what excuses you make up.

I don't blame SVB but I certainly would not feel terribly proud if I were him after "winning" this event and I would likely take my money and go away quietly back to my room without much celebration because I would know for a fact I did not really earn it.

Well I'm glad you don't blame SVB. However, I don't agree with your opinion after that. Opinion's will vary.

Scenario 1= The rule was that if a Round Robin winner forfeit prior to the knockout round, he would be replaced by the runner up from that group. This scenario speaks for itself.

Scenario 2= The rule was that if the winner of a Round Robin group forfeits his spot in the knockout round, the spot becomes a walkthrough(bye), then you have evidence of foul play and should be outraged.

Scenario 3= There was no rule regard this scenario(this is most likely the case), and the tournament director made a judgement call, in which case he went with option a instead of b. Some won't like it(SVB haters/Ko fans), some wont care, some will love it (SVB Fans/Ko haters/people who want to see more pool).

And while I am no Ozzy fanboi by any means, from a tournament promoters POV putting ANYONE into the KO round is better than a bye.

Unless they broke a rule, written or otherwise, this is much ado about nothing.

Is there anyone who really wants to watch the brothers in another finals? It was painful in the 10 ball. Great call CSI to advance SVB..

Just sitting on the fence, huh.

That's the funniest thing I ever heard, Ko gets screwed so it's much to do about nothing.
CSI should be ashamed of them selves, I'm sure this isn't what happens when a code of conduct means something. I now know just what theirs is worth.

When things are handled unfairly, why do you think it's necessary to bring up Ko fans or SVB haters. I never felt one way or the other about Ko besides he is a great player.
As far as Shane goes I am actually a big fan and am disappointed that he even agreed to play in this instance. Pool slides further down hill.

There is no doubt in my mind if Shane was in Kos spot and they let Ko back in the Shane fan club would be screaming bloody blue murder

I would have been mad if I only got to see 1 semi final match when I paid to see 2 semis and a final.

Are you happy you got to see two semi-finals, even though they screwed KO
to make that happen ?

I personally would rather see it handled fairly, with Ko getting the bye he was supposed to.
I wish that Shane would have told them no when they asked him to play, after he was already out.
For people who made such a big deal about their code of conduct, pffffft.
