Csi invitationals

I agree. These two guys are unreal, and we are proud that we brought them to the attention of the US pool fans.

We are also hoping they think about coming back - assuming we go ahead and have invitationals again next year.

Congrats to the brothers.

BTW - I was in Germany for a WPA meeting when Ko Pin Yi won the world junior championship. He was impressive then too!

Awesome! I got the chance to chat a little with the younger Ko on the night his bro played SVB in the Kamui Challenge. I should've asked for a selfie too!

I don't know how you pulled off getting the cream of the crop from 4 countries. You must have a helluva magic wand.

The Ko's rocked Las Vegas and as you said, you provided them with the opportunity to gain a lot of attention here. Dam if they didn''t make the most of it. I'd heard of Ko Pin Yi, but not his younger brother. What a pleasant surprise!

Congrats to the Ko's!

brilliant play. Not only did they win but won with class...... congrats to both of them !

Mark -- It looks like players from Taipei have won the boys' World 9-Ball Championship 14 of the 22 years it has been contested, with four players (including Ko Pin-Yi) winning it twice and one player (Wu Yu-Lun) winning it three times. Quite amazing!

So Ko the elder is one up on Ko the younger in junior world championships!

shame wu yu lun doesnt play pool anymore, he is another monster ! saw him crush archer when he was like 16 or 17 lol...

are there any info if they're interested in playing at the US Open?:grin-square:

According to John Liu, the guy in the middle with the yellow shirt in Danny Lee's first pic, they're considering playing in it next year.

why not this year? next year there will be hover boards. who knows what the americans can do when there's already too much technology. :D

I may be wrong, but perhaps the Taiwanese gov't assists on only one trip per year to the US? Anyone know?

There are qualifier events in Taiwan that the players from Taiwan have to play in and place in a certain spot in order to be qualified for the government sponsor. I highly doubt that the US Open is part of the "official" events that the government sponsors.

On top of that, there are probably other Asian events they have planned to play in already that we don't read about here on Azbilliards.
