CTE Aiming

I assume this has been asked and talked about before on here. But I really couldn't find a thread that answered this question for me. So here goes.

Is CTE nothing more than aiming the center of the CB to the edge of the OB? Is that all there is to it? Or is it much more detailed than that?

The reason I am asking is I might consider taking a lesson if I can determine if CTE aiming would be of benefit to me.

I posted this on the Aiming Forum but it doesn't seem to be getting any attention. I thought it might be more visible hear on the main forum.

Basic <that system> as stated is a very convenient way to orient the balls, shot, pocket, self as a PSR. For me it then breaks down into indeterminate subliminal routines and marketing. You can PM JB or Speeder for their glowing take if you like.
Frankly, a shot can't get any more aimed than contact alignment.

that’s because they’ve all killed each other fighting about the intricacies of half ball shifts and the touch of dominate eye alignment vs. stepping the left edge of the truth into a shift of explainable angles and the perceptions of a subconscious geometry

You know you can get on YouTube and find people teaching it for free And your question will be answered

Here is the real truth about aiming:
You can’t teach aiming!!
I was involved in the past in teaching pool and talking and working with quite a few students, I quickly came to the realization that everyone sees a bit differently and any system out there, needs to be tweaked to suit an individual needs.
Once you understand the ghost ball concept and understand that you need to take into consideration the width of the balls, just set shots and practice until you find your system.

Here is a nice drill to practice:
Put the cue ball on the spot on the head string and an object ball on the center spot and cut it to a corner pocket with center ball hit. When you make it, move the OB up half a diamond and shot again.
Every time you make the ball, you move it up half a diamond, every time you miss, bring it back half a diamond.
After getting it consistently on all spots, repeat but this time use side spin, do it with outside spin and afterwards with inside spin.

Please don't infect the main forum with this stuff. there's a TON of info out there available. this will only turn into another pro-anti cte shitshow.

OP may not know but aiming discussions are more contentious than israel-palestine on azb. and whenever they break out of their aiming forum-confinement, it quickly escalates into mudslinging.

CTE pretends that if you look at the balls a certain way the shot line to the pocket will be revealed to you. It is an exercise in confirmation bias. You have been playing long enough that you most likely know where to hit most shots. The trick is in delivering the cue straight.

Poolology actually does what CTE thinks it does.

im dabbling in it now a tad, little by little
helps when you dont have a good way or feel on how to shoot a ball
extreme back cuts, banks,
not going to the extent some of these guy tho lmao

you can teach aiming only after they got very good fundamentals.
very true but by that point they’ve already learned how a touch of shift towards personal beliefs will throw the edge of reality into a realm of understandable visions and meanings beyond what the layout of the table is trying to convey
