CTE and TOI

Lou,

I am sure you do not want to learn the difference. It does not matter to me.

Stan Shuffett

You are wrong -- I do want to learn the difference between DVD #1 (non-real CTE) and DVD #2 (real CTE). I would go so far as to guess that many folks would be interested in knowing that.

Now from what I am understanding following this is that there is no difference between the technique taught on dvd #1 and dvd #2. It sounds to me like Stan is just separating the different systems from each other.

I stand corrected.

DVD 1 has the real CTE system. CTE PRO ONE connects geometrically. I WILL show this this go-round in a much much stronger way.

In DVD #2 I will present the geometric ties of CTE PRO ONE that will allow for a much greater overall understanding of what CTE really is.

I think I have been fair in that I am opening my teaching facility this spring for demos of what CTE is really all about.

Ultimately, it will boil down to a player's willingness to work to fully understand this because experience is the main teacher. But the pathway will be much easier to follow.

If I recall correctly DVD #1 was supposed to be the definitive work on the subject. My wife would still like to know if everyone who bought DVD #1 will now get a free copy of DVD #2.

will be happy to
pass along
your answer :-)

Lou,
You never even made a real effort at CTE PRO ONE. If you did, you'd know the system. The system is complete on DVD 1 with one update that has been publicly announced and is included in all DVD sales.

My knowledge of how CTE really works and how it ties in geometrically is 2 years further down the road. Many, many people are interested in CTE and they can't get to KY. My normal CTE PRO ONE rate is $220.
So, I have 10/15000 hours of work that covers 2 DVDS.
You sold your DVD for $30 so your total is $15 invested and you are complaining.

I spent about $12000 on # 1. And #2 will total about $15000.
I am trying to advance CTE to the folks that want it and I am sorry you do not appreciate my efforts.

I do think there are many here on AZ that appreciate what I am doing. You have called me a huckster and much more. I know where your heart is.

It is tough to have my heart in the right place and have to deal with your attitude. But I will handle it and I will continue to advance a very special system of which you know little about. You are mostly about criticizing what I do. The folks here on AZ can count on it.

Stan this type of person is best ignored. I noticed he tried trolling CJ willey in his threads also.

RG1,
Yes, I should ignore Lou but I do not mind standing up for myself. The AZ members can read and make their judgements about how all this pans out.

My response for DVD 1 has been extremely positive.
The price on DVD1 will remain the same. Once DVD 1 is sold out, that will be all she wrote.

First time posting in the aiming thread... after reading the above, several thoughts come to mind...

1. Einstein's contemporaries did not all accept his new theories at once and he did not receive the Nobel Prize for either the Special or General Theory of Relativity...

2. The semantics of the word a**hole: The word is mainly used as a vulgarity, generally to describe people who are viewed as stupid, incompetent, unpleasant, or detestable.

3. "A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him." David Brinkley

I've stayed out of this, but not going to any longer. I went to Stan's house and spent a day with him working on Pro One. I immediately bought DVD #1 and used it as, forgive the term, a "Bible" to study by. The Graphics in it are great, the information in it is invaluable. Personally, I cannot wait for DVD #2 to come out, and if there is one little bit of information in it that makes me understand Pro One better, than it will be worth 10 times the asking price.

As for Pro One... I use it exclusively. I play 8 ball, 9 ball, one hole, 10 ball and short rack banks. I have found it invaluable for ALL of these games. With VERY few exceptions, I use Pro One for everything... cut shots, caroms, bank shots, etc. Best thing I think I've ever done was go to Stan's house for a day and learn this method. Honestly, it took me awhile to a.) get used to the idea that pocketing balls was that easy and b.) TRUST it and use it like it is designed to be used. Now, I've been using it for over a year and it's just automatic for me. I don't even think about it, just walk to the table and I see the Pro One aspect.

So, for me, THANKS STAN! Great aiming system and you teach it well and represent it well in your first DVD. I can't wait until the 2nd one comes out. It will take a prominent place alongside DVD #1, in my library of tapes and DVD's... I don't have a whole lot of instructional DVDs... I only keep the ones that I think have significant merit and your's is among them.

I have not complained, I have only asked. (You appear to have a habit of reading too much into what you think I write :-) And, I will point out that you have still not provided a straight answer. (BTW, I have no doubt that you have spent a lot of money creating your DVD but somewhat obviously you intend to recoup all of that plus profit. Nothing wrong with that.)

I think it's great that you continue your work on CTE and I know some folks can't wait to get to get their hands on it to further their own experimentation. I'm not really in that camp but I am interested in the CTE discussion in general, having followed and participated in it for some 15 years on this and another forum. Hell, Hal Houle hisself called me at home many years ago.

So maybe we just wait for DVD #2 to come out and see what's on it. If nothing else one thing that the folks on AZ can actually count on is that it will continue an already interesting discussion.

Anyone who uses CTE in North Carolina?

Im very curious to see how a practicioner of CTE applys his art. Id just like to get together one day and play some with a CTE player.

If there is anyone who lives in North Carolina and is a CTE player Id just like to get together and play some. Contact me via private message and lets decide on a day.

I can contact Jared McGee to play you a little. He uses real CTE. I taught him a few months back. He isn't a funsy player tho. Let me know. Thx.

Lou, can you please tell us specifically what is wrong with Pro One and why it does not work? If not, please know that you are embarrassing yourself by criticizing something that you admit that you don't understand.

Stan,

Looking forward to the update, sounds like you have added some great enhancements and depth to the original which I'm sure will be appreciated by both current and new practitioners. Will continue to wade through the aiming threads watching for the release date. :)

Thanks, Scott!

DVD 2 is more about understanding. The system is good to go as is. But my new work shows the geometric connection. Understanding builds confidence. A lot of players use CTE just on faith that it works. I sincerely want to boost their understanding to at least the limit that is was meant to be. And, yes I want new students to have a better shot at connecting with CTE.

There's an element to real CTE that clearly put it into another dimension. I want to point these things out so that faith can diminish and knowledge can increase.

Yes. There'll be a reteach. There has to be. DVD 1 will be depleted one day.
I will still always recommend owning both DVDS if possible. These 2 DVDS represent the only completed CTE work that is available.

Appreciate your support,

Stan Shuffett

I don't recall saying I don't understand it but will confess to saying I don't believe it works as advertised. But since you asked, here are my observations after studying DVD #1:

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=2871644&postcount=77

Now before everyone starts up again with the: you didn't come to it with an open mind; you didn't work with it long enough; you didn't really understand it -- I did try and make it work but was unable to. Another player here in St. Louis, an attorney as a matter of fact and a fine player, got the DVD, worked with it and said it pretty much messed up his game. He also said it took him two weeks to "get un-CTE'd" so you know there was some kind of commitment there. (I think another guy here on AZ ended up using DVD #1 as a coaster and used a photo of his coffee cup sitting on it at his desk as an avatar for a while, so not everyone is a believer.)

I know there are guys for whom it works and to them I say mazel tov.
