CTE: dissecting the pivot

"We know that for the shorter shots the bridge needs to be closer. Well, a close inspection when on the 1/2 tip offset will indeed show you the line through the cue ball core is a steeper one. I recall during a lesson with Stan watching him pivot the cue on a shorter shot. The butt of the cue was moving considerably more than the longer shots, and that makes complete sense."

Thanks for the confirmation.

Be well

There has been a lot of discussion and controversy around the CTE pivot. I have written an article regarding the pivot in Stan Shuffetts CTE aiming system. Link is provided below. Feel free to discuss and as always, please keep it civil :)

At the bottom of the CTE: dissecting-the-pivot article is a link to your Offset and Pivot Aiming Systems.

That is also a good read for anyone that's not familiar to this way of aiming.. Thanks for the info mohrt.

Thanks for posting this Ralph.

Been studying 90/90 for the last couple of weeks and this helps to make the pivots more natural.

I have Stan's DVD2 (have watched it many times) and have watched all of his YT videos.
It wasn't until I got into 90/90 that I began to understand the pivots.

I pivot in the air while going down on the shot and have been doing real well. I just wish I could understand how it works. I don't have a clue but it works very well.

And thanks to Mohrt for the write ups. The 3 step process is more comfortable (as describe by Mohrt) than the 2 step process.

Thanks

John
