CTE Pro One makes no sense to me...

That part's true.

This part isn't:

In pool, if you can't immediately see the sense in it, it probably isn't there.

Just let him work with it. He's starting to achieve the same results we all do. A shame u can't see past your preconceived opinions and let people just do what they want to do.

He doesn't need to believe the "magical" parts of CTE's explanations in order to make use of its real benefits. In fact, it should do him more good if he sees it realistically.

You don't do him or CTE any good by insisting it's magic. It's just an aiming system with pluses and minuses like any other.

You're the only one saying it's magical. It is just an aiming system. A very good one at that. Just let him decide for himself. Sounds like he is on a good path, one you should have taken a long time ago. At least he is giving it a shot on an actual table

I'm relatively new to pool, not life. Honestly i dont see why anyone is so h€11 bent against this or any other method. Once you understand how finding the visuals can only put you in one place, you see its not snake oil. Whether every solution has a pocket or not i dont know at this point, but on several shots i inadvertently made banks by applying the pivot in th wrong direction. I was able to repeat it and make the banks again then go back and simply pivot from the other direction to cut the ball in.
I certainly don't have enough practice time at it yet, and its a concerted effort at this point ti find the visuals. But once you begin to see it you understand it is a working system.

What do mean when you say it's a concerted effort to find the visuals?

How difficult is it to 'see' the CTE line while 'seeing' edge to x line.

To me, that should be the most simple aspect.

Best 2 You & All,
Rick

Its finding the spot where you see both lines some shots it jumps right out others not so much.

I don't see why this should be an issue. It's ETB or ETA/C. Those remain the same.

Or... do you mean selecting which one to use that takes a concerted effort instead of seeing it after you've made the choice?

Best to You & All,
Rick

Thanks rick. Sometimes finding where to stand to see both CTE and edge to a/b/c isnt so obvious. Ill look and easily see either or but have to move around until i see both.

I get you.

That's how it should be a bit, I'd say, but, it should not be too labor intensive.

I still need a ton of work on the system. However, I find that if I'm off set while acquiring the lines and then concentrate on getting down on center ball I am generally seeing if the shot looks right to me. If I then trust my visuals and hit center ball with commitment I am having good results. Understand that because of life circumstances I have stopped and started the learning system several times but at this point my confidence is definitely growing. My body seems to be positioning itself
correctly most of the time and some of the difficult shots that I'm making surprise me with the ease that they seem to be happening. The ProOne seems to be easier for me than the Manual Pivot. The DVD is back in my DVD player. Learning is always fun, especially when there have been frustrations. Trust your visuals and remember how many times Stan and others emphasize that it is a center ball system and COMMIT.

Leave the guy alone and stop with your word trapping bullshit

It's not after you get used to it. If you spent any time at all with cte you would know that. But you also have not done the work, just making observations from the keyboard. Let the guy do the work at the table.

You are on the right track. With experience everything becomes easier.

And you think that fosters cooperation?

Please point out where I laid out any word trap?

I know many of you are suffering from former, abuse, from non system advocates but you gotta get over it & take each communication on their own

& not lump them all into one as you do with 5 or more shots from the same supposedly objective visual.

Now...see what you've done.

Just FYI, I was basically done & had gotten my clarification. But now you've changed the subject.

Where did I say anything about having to get used to it. That was what I was clarifying.

To me, getting the visual should be able to be done from day one. I have no trouble. It just takes a small bit of time to position oneself precisely.

I have been to the table with it so perhaps you should stop making false statements.

Where did I say anything to discourage him?

Hi Gary,

I don't know if this will help you or not, but it is my understanding that it is suppose to take the need for the shot looking right or wrong out of the picture.

One does not even need to see the pocket.

I've made my own conclusions as to what CTE is & what it is not.

You may have to do the same & then proceed accordingly. It seems to me that you yourself might be fighting with it.

It's been said by some that one needs to just let go & trust it.

Good Luck & Best 2 You,
Rick
