CTE/Pro One ~ The Final Chapter - First Impression

Folks:

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is Gerry banned and this is his last post?

Obviously, the above post didn't have anything to do with it. But I can't believe that he was banned because of the uproar over banning SJD -- when it was SJD who attacked, not Gerry. I stuck up for Gerry in this post:

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=4610368#post4610368

Because he was able to post a day or so after the SJD incident, it's obvious he wasn't banned then, so I'm wondering why he's banned now? Was a thread or post removed that I didn't see?

Hell, I didn't know SJD was banned. Thanks for the heads-up.

Now to find out if and why Gerry got banned.

I hate to say it but it appears that Gerry's ONE tongue-in-cheek comment about SJD groping his daughter is the only thing that I can see that would be even close to grounds for banning.

Perhaps it is an attempt to pacify the already banned and stave off further threats.

You see, this is the reason that the "back and forth" as SJD calls it, is NO GOOD. The retorts go on ad nauseam UNTIL one person hits another person's HOT BUTTON. Then all hell breaks loose. THIS IS WHY THE PERSONAL ad hominem ATTACKS SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED IN THIS FORUM.

I saw another poster who I won't name in another unrelated thread making disgusting remarks about another poster. While I was going to call out the well known poster for his disgusting remarks, I realized that he doesn't really care whose feelings he hurts or who reads his posts. These two posters think it is all fun and games but eventually one of them will get pissed off and I wouldn't be surprised to see unsavory things happen, regardless of surface reconciliation.

I try to control what I say on forums because it's the right thing to do but I also wonder about the ramifications if I really got hot at someone. I haven't been really angry in a long time. I don't really consider myself a vicious guy, but I wouldn't like to see me getting furious at anyone, especially over some one-upsmanship, childish crap on the forum. Everyone has their limits.

I guess Gerry found a weakness in SJD's seemingly impervious veneer. But one ad hominem attack should have merited a warning, not a banning but this isn't my forum.

ON another note, you know, apologies are fine and dandy but on a forum, most of the time, they are just words, designed to tidy up the place and aren't genuinely sincere. So the apologies often are just ways of sweeping the dirt under the rug. We've seen repeated behavior that warrants multiple bans so some people can't change. SJD is most likely a really nice guy. I think the forums allow some of us to say things that are better left unsaid.

Maybe we can all learn from this.

Given the posters they allow here, such as The Thaiger, and countless other trolls and troublemakers, banning Gerry might go down as the greatest injustice ever at this site. Aside from Stan, he and mohrt have been the two most significant contributors to the Aiming Forum. Plus, he's Canadian. Those guys are all too big a wimps to get banned. LOL

Thanks for the support guys - my 'ban' was overturned upon review by Jerry and Mike.

I saw your YouTube videos on CTE/Pro1. You are THE MAN!

If ordinary players think they can just up and shoot shots like you were shooting, especially the banks without hitting a million balls or using a GREAT AIMING SYSTEM like CTE/Pro1, they are just crazy. I know those bank shots you were shooting weren't choreographed and that makes the successful potting all the more important.

People like you are putting a muzzle on the Naysayers.

Welcome home.

Thanks Joey - I just love the puzzle solving power of CTE with banking.

I was just playing with another shot and found 6 solutions rather quickly. Once my son stops playing Minecraft with his cousins I will record it - pretty powerful stuff.

The Naysayers are the ones losing out - I have things I don't agree with but I did try them out. A lot of people like to argue without the facts - it is fun proving them wrong time and time again though.

Cheers,
Gerry

Thanks for the videos Gerry. I am enjoying learning CTE PRO/1 as are you.

I agree. For one hole CTE/ProOne is like cheating. You can bank into and through tight lanes with 100% confidence. And if you want to adjust then it's super easy to adjust into a different line once you have a perfect baseline to work off of.

Solving the puzzle is a good way to put it. Stan also says it's unlocking the shots.

Hi everyone! this is my first post to AZBilliards. More to come :)

I have heard many good things on CTE/Pro One and is very close to purchasing the DVD to improve my game.

However I have a question. I am a left-handed player with right eye dominance. Is any part of the instructions specific to right-handed players, such as the left sweep and right sweep? Do I have to make any adjustments to the instructions?

I would go to Stan "The Man" Shuffett's website and ask him via email and you can go that website by clicking here.

It won't, you have to apply it ;)

If he glues the DVD to the end of his $400 cue, he will make more shots! J/K, watch the DVD, take it to the table and discuss your experiences. If you put in the effort, the system will yield great results.

Well, I am trying to put in the effort, I practiced for 4 hours last night. I bought a 4x8 table in January and I'm trying to average at least an hour a night. I even did the 3,000 stroke practice drill I saw from DrDave on youtube and sent him a video for some advice.

When I was young lad, I'm 53 now, I used to hang out in a pool hall but snooker was the game in Canada. I got to be an OK player but it's always been a dream of mine to get to be a really good player. I do love snooker but here in the US the game is pool and when in Rome… besides, my room wouldn't fit a 6x12. So I'm living the dream!

I've been watching youtube videos and experimenting with CTE lately. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes not. I need to see the whole thing to find out what I'm missing, besides the shots.

I will put the effort into it even if the wife kills me for spending too much time on the table.

Patience and persistence.

You have to work at it, that's an over simplification I know. I watched the DVD several times and kept going back to the table until it started making sense to me. The hardest part is letting go of what you already know and trusting in the new system. If you are doing what you love, your wife will understand and encourage you.

Didn't feel like making a new thread about this.

I highly recommend any of you Pro One users to get Joe Tucker's 3rd Eye Stroke Trainer. It makes learning the system so much easier since it forces you to hit center ball, and it forces you to stroke straight. Two caveats to using the system well.

My practice regiment is now as follows

- 10 stop shots w/3rd eye and 10 w/o it.
- Same with follow
- Same with draw
- Then I'll set up different reference shots, and practice those w/ and w/o the 3rd eye

Finally, if you really want a good way to practice your long distance visuals and stroke. Try shooting spot shots with the CB in the jaws of the pockets. So far my personal best is 7 in a row.
