CTE/ PRO ONE with Stan Shuffett

You know I think I understand why you get the answers you and others get.

In the past, I really didn't get CTE/Pro One. Now that I have a working knowledge of it, having taken a lesson with Stan, I understand a lot of the euphoria some of the users seem to exhibit and how some people play a lot better pool knowing and using CTE/Pro One.

Even when I didn't "get it", I was perfectly happy to let those who used it to have their way and to actually appreciate the fact that they had improved their game using CTE. I had no interest in knocking something that I didn't use. If someone else used it and it helped them, more power to them.

But along comes "youze" guys and not one of you can spend a day without somehow trying to ridicule CTE or one of the users. That's what is a joke.

The truth is that previously, I wasn't very impressed with any CTE player's level of play, until I saw Stan shooting and then Landon as well as Stevie Moore. There are other top players using CTE/Pro One so I figured it wouldn't hurt for me to try to learn it from the source.

I know you're not trying to learn anything a bout CTE nor or any of the other naysayers, except Dave who would like nothing more than to document it as some form of snake oil medicine.

"Youze" guys tag team CTE users from morning to dark.

It really amazes me that someone like yourself would waste your time talking about something that you have no interest in using.

Please don't tell me you really want to learn CTE. PLEASE don't do that.

Stalker.

The best thing one can ever do in order to really improve is to video yourself.

It's not a DVD, or lesson's or cue, but the ability to see what you are doing thats gonna bring to most bang for the buck.

You can have all the lesson's in the world, but without continuing feedback on what you are doing, you will never know for sure if your are doing it right unless you see yourself doing it.

Why do you think dancers practice in front of mirrors? Because sometimes what you think you are doing, you are not really doing. The only way to know this is to somehow see yourself.

Without seeing yourself, how do you really know you are doing the same thing everytime?

Save money on lesson's, DVD's and get a smartphone with with a camcorder app. Video yourself and learn and improve.

FWIW, the reason CTE, new sticks, new shafts, and such all appear to work is because it's something new you are trying, so you are just paying more attention to detail in what you are doing.Pleasure of Small Motions explains this.

If ya can't pick up a house stick and play as well with it as your own stick, you got along ways to go to being a pool player.

There is no magic.

Good thought -- videoing yourself is a great. It can really have a huge impact on your game and even if you have to go out and buy a little camcorder and tripod the cost will probably be worth more, and do more for your game, than any lesson (or DVD) out there.

This is good a marketing tatic from stan. Getting Patrick, GMT to keep yapping away about cte and bumping the thread lol good exposer for cte!

Some people still believe the old chestnut that any publicity -- even bad --is good publicity.

Unfortunately, this has proven to not be so. :-)

Oh, shut up.

There are two obvious reasons that rational people don't "try" CTE:

1. CTE users (while constantly criticizing others for "refusing to try" CTE) can't describe what is supposed to be "tried".

2. It's apparently a system for idiots.

pj <- expecting brisk sales
chgo

1. Want to make a large wager that I can't describe CTE?

2. If I am an idiot why did I figure it out before you?

And, I despise your "idiot" reference!!!!

You are right, Lou.

Bad publicity does have a negative impact.

I would never have started this project had I known then what I know now. I thought it was positive all the way and that even the critics would be glad of the fact that a DVD would come.

I have learned the hard way......

But that's okay. I will go forward and in a positive way.

Have a good day, Lou.

How much longer before Mike or Mr. Wilson kills this thread?

Since the main players always seem to believe they are acting very responsibly, and that nothing would suggest that this has gotten out of hand. They're just being analytical, after all.

And calling each other idiots.

Just like politics, the trouble comes from both ides of the aisle.

Stan, there are more of us that are eagerly anticipating the DVD than the naysayers..

It just seems that those that have no intentions on learning the information are those that clog the CTE threads with negative dribble.. Guess they have nothing better to do?

Personally, I truly appreciate what you have done and continue to do for the many that wish to improve and love the game..

It's unfortunate that there is so much negativity around here but I am glad that you have not let them stop your efforts.. They would get too much satisfaction from that.

Have a great weekend my friend!

Stan,

Unfortunately, pool players are the cause of why pool isn't mainstream. But what's killing our sport isn't the drunks or the degenerates. It's the PhD's, and the "elite thinkers" that think they're smarter than everyone else, and mock us "commoners" and how we play the game. I see it all the time - those good players that aren't quite great yet, mocking lower skilled players, or thinking they're somehow beneath them. It's like high school - grade 10s pick on grade 9s. The grade 12s don't care. They have other things that are their priority. Pool world = high school. Right now it seems to be the science club versus the jocks.

There will be people who will appreciate your video. Don't let a few analytical minds ruin your endeavor.

Hey,thehammer37, Appreciate that! Good timing!

Stan, there are a lot of people who want to try your DVD to see if they can improve their pool game and i'm one of them. If I can work it out i'd love to come see you and get some lessons in person, but if I can't get there in person then the DVD is the next best thing.......i'm looking forward to it.

James

I, too, am pretty sure I'll be picking up a copy of the DVD.

I don't know if I'm at a level that I can understand or implement any/all of it, but anything I can learn to help my game is welcome.

Good luck with it, Stan.

High school must have been really hard on you.
