If cubc was a nit, he would have never put up the money and made the bet. He put up the cash and showed up to play. That proves he is not a nit.
However, on that day, he didn't play up to his claims. That is called something totally different.

but he is not too smart either! For 3k, you check every rack, and you specify where the spotted ball goes in the rack every rack.

I agree, I watched the match and I believe he bet outside of his comfort level, he appeared to be very nervous and probably played well below his normal level. If the way he played in that match is his standard game, he has not business giving anyone the seve.
