This is my third completed cue and this is the first one that I got to give to someone else. A friend of mine is a teacher here and he works with high school students that play pool. He is kind of their mentor and they have local tournaments for their students with other schools. It seemed like a really cool think for a high school program. So....I told him I would make him a cue. I also included an old 1x2 george style case to protect it for awhile.

Anyway, I got to see the look on his face and it was a great experience! The first two cues are still with me since they were for my wife and I, so this was great to see!

So here it is, it is like my first cue with an engraved hoppe ring, but this one is a little more intricate. The blank was an old house cue that had pretty good points, but I have no idea what the wood actually is. It was very light weight and light in color until I tung oiled it, put wood grain filler on it, and finished it. It turned out to have really nice light/dark grains. I was only able to get a few quick pictures before my friend stopped by, but it was well worth it!

That's what it's all about. Great job bringing out the hidden beauty in the wood.

Nice gesture

Giving for a good cause is always better than being paid for personal gain. That was a nice gesture and may you be rewarded 3 fold. On another note that is a good looking cue and your future as a cue builder is looking bright.

Don't guess we will be calling that one the out-house cue anymore. Nice job, love the scroll work on the hoppie ring!
