Cue accessories I need

Was wondering what you folks take with you when you go play pool, or a tournament.

All I have is a Cue, Case with a 8” pocket, and in the pocket is Chalk, 220 Grit Sandpaper, Magnetic Chalk Holder (that do work because a weak magnet :mad:) and a small towel for keeping my sweaty hands dry.

What other accessories should I consider buying, and why?

I don't know what its officially called, but I make sure I always have my little porcupine tool to use on my tip or times when I miscue. I usually try to use before every touranament day and sometimes before each match. Being female with longer hair, I always keep a ponytail holder in my case for times when my hair just doesn't want to cooperate or if its hot in the pool hall. Always have a pen and small pad of paper to write things down after a match because I have a hard time remembering shots.

the why, cause they just come in handy on a regular basis.
 
Things in my case:

Instroke 2x4 case
Custom Playing Cue
Omen J/B Cue
Small pocket tin which contains: Q-smooth sandpapers, extra Moori tip, cuemaker business cards, Tip Pick, Ultimate tip tool.
Large pocket: Towel, box of blue master chalk, moose-head bridge end, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser piece.

Never used Visine, and Tums also work great on LEG CRAMPS,and are a SOURCE OF CALCIUM.

BTW Joey you going to reply to KOOP, or in the PERRY THREAD, or are you stumped for an answer???

Bring your own blue Master chalk. Sometimes the ones at the pool hall are wet. Sometimes they have Silver Cup ( me no like ).
I have a Dr Z shaft pack. You can use 1200-2000 grit paper too if you don't mind taking some wood off your shaft.
I have tip scuffer even though I have a layered tip. :eek:

Visine is great FOR relieving your EYES from smoke

And, nothing like a good shot of calcium in the middle of a tournament;)

OK, here's what you need to be fully equipped for serious play.

  • At least one extra shaft, with a tip that you have used for at least 5-10 hours so that it is broken in
  • A break/jump cue
  • A tip tapper, tip-pik, or other implement to dress your tip
  • (optional) Cue Silk or other product to promote shaft smoothness
  • If possible, a rulebook (sometimes even tournament officials make mistakes
  • Some people carry fine grit sandpaper (like 600 or greater; I hope you're not using that 220 on your shaft!)
  • A big box of heart!
  • And finally, a big bag of game!

I travel light...1. chalk holder {the kind on a string} 2 It's George tip scuffer {worth it's weight in gold} 3. cloth for shaft cleaning 4. slip-on moose rack bridge head....

Cue Accessories

In each of my rigs I have:

Cue Cube brand Shaft Slicker & Burnisher.
Tip Tapper on a Little 8 or 9 ball Key chain.
Pocket Chalker.
Magnetic Chalk Holder.
4" Long 1/2 moon shaped sander with Sand paper inserts.
Moose Bridge head.
8 or 9 ball hand Towel.
Nick Varner Shaft Papers.
2 Folded up "Umbrella" plastic bags that you get at Wal mart when you walk in with a wet Umbrella, they have them at some grocery stores also.
It rains allot here, so if you put one on from each end, it keeps your case nice & dry.

Sounds like allot,but it all neatly fits into the accessorie pockets.:)

a few more items

Just a couple of things that I usually carry that I didn't see anyone mention:

fingernail clippers (every year or two I have a bothersome hangnail!)
one band aid - I think Eddie Felson carried band aids, so it must be cool
a $20 bill - I guess with inflation, it should be at least a $50 bill these days
a couple of wet napkins or wet wipes
