cue ball slide/stun

One of those high speed swoops around a ball is just about my favorite thing to see on a pool table. Slam a reverse cut in, have the ball follow the tangent a bit to get below a ball obstructing a lower speed draw, and then spin catches and it arcs around to the other rail and spins back to me... pool perfection imo.
not a draw shot but sweet how it arcs for position

As the cue ball travels forward with draw it's sliding.
When your cue ball is spinning backwards (draw) on it's forward travel towards it's target, the cloth is constantly slowing down it's rotation.
When the forward movement of the sliding draw shot no longer has back spin/draw on it, it's at the transition point, where the cue ball begins it's Natural rotation, I call it '' unwinding''.
Any cue ball hit off center with draw, when it unwinds, will slightly change direction/right or left depending on cueing strike of the White ball.

...and that right there is another reason why some promote the use of always cueing with some tiny amount of side english, or dare I say "touch of whatever".

That said, I tend to aim center CB. I was hitting some 'kill' shots the other night, (or I guess long range slow pace stun shots depending on who's reading and their personal definition). Nearly all had some tiny amount of side english burning off after the CB had stopped traveling. Less than a full rotation. So minor that it didn't impact the shot at all. In terms of potting the ball (~4ft from pocket) or CB control. Of course these results are relative to how closely to center CB the strike was.

JV it's why you'll see the TOP pros, Ghorst included miss an Easy close up shot when coming across an object ball they are cutting.
Dirt build up on the balls, especially the darker obj. balls is Always in play.
