Cue brand

I'm shooting a New Sheriff cue with a NS CF shaft, 12.4mm, 19.5oz
Spanish bull wrap, curly maple.
I bought a second New Sheriff cue for my wife with his cf shaft. I liked the way hers hit
so much better than mine with a different brand cf shaft that I had him make me one.

The hit on this cue is so solid, It is my favorite by far.
Yeah, a players gonna play but the confidence a player has when playing with a cue he loves is hard to beat.
I've seen some pictures of New Sheriff's work, they are beautiful cues, if I decide to get a custom cue I will probably hit him up.

Right now I play with a Viking with a 12.25mm Siege CF shaft. I think it's the finest placebo available and don't have any reason (or money) to get anything else. I might think about a larger diameter tip, but that's about it.

We need a dead horse being kicked emoji. This thread was dead.
I'm going to look for a months-old thread and post something like "A bird in the hand..."

The old saying stands IT NOT THE ARROW, BUT THE INDAIAN THAT WINS THE GAME Once you rise to a certain level, you already know what to do and it doesn't matter what cue you are shooting with,.
Counter argument: I enjoy playing and play regularly. I use a nice and (relatively) expensive set up because I like it and I can afford it. It has nothing to do with my skill level. But since it's something that is regularly used and brings me joy, it is money well spent.

There are a million, different opinions, on what and why. Just use what you feel like.
It don't take much, to find that cue. Just don't spend, thousands trying to find out.
Like catalin said, if you can find one, that brings you joy. All the better!!!

I wonder if pool players hang out at Lexus dealers to tell customers, "A Kia will get you there just the same!"

Who is the maker of your cue stick, and why do you go with that brand?
Do you have friends you play with? Is there a shop that has cue's you could try? My advice is try some of these cues and don't look at the names or worry about what the cue weighs, the less you know the better, find one YOU like, everyone has different tastes , there are so many quality cues out there it would be harder to not find something that feels good to you, after a year(if you are new to the game) repeat this process, buy that time you will have a lot better idea what you want out of your cue. Just because SVB plays this cue doesn't mean it's right for you.

Aside from the addition of a CF shaft, pool cue construction has remained the same for many decades.
Unlike golf clubs where technology is the driving theme for achieving performance, distance and accuracy,
pool cues are designed and built to do the identical thing. Cues are very simple in purpose….stroke the CB.

Golf club manufacture revolves around technological advancements so people will replace and buy new clubs.
Pool cues are a different critter and up until CF shafts, cues have remained pretty much the same for a long time.
Having a break and a player is bad enough. Im glad we don’t have to have to pay a caddy to carry my bag around the bar and hand me my breaker and then my long shooter and my spinner and don’t forget the one to just tap it in… tap it in…
