Cue Case ID's Needed Please Part 1 of 2

To test the authenticity of the leather, I performed a fire test. The fire test is if it's authentic leather or composite leather, the material with smolder when put to a flame. If it's vinyl it will burn quickly. The results....the material lit up like a rocket. So assuming it's an "It's George" and it is vinyl, Does any body know what this case is worth?

This made me laugh out loud :) Reminded me of my many trips to the black markets in Shanghai, years ago. Those guys peddling the designer purses always used to hold a lighter up to them to 'prove' they were good quality and made of leather :) Good memories!!

Regarding the case in this post, I personally feel this is a knock off. It seems to me that there were some knock off George cases floating around back in the mid 90's if I remember right. The cloth strap, and lack of a logo and a no lock latch were all characteristics best I remember. I believe the fit of the case top to the bottom was also questionable, and the plastics used on the ends weren't quite as thick or hard as the normal George plastics. George used to advertise them as the same plastics that football helmets were made out of if I remember right. Also, I believe the cloth interior felt different, a little thinner and more course I think it was....

Again, just my humble opinion...... :)

What I beilieve this case is, A later, ITS GEORGE-V case

This Economy Version of the --ITS GEORGE-- line came out as an economical way of entering into the design of the Its George line, without paying for more expensive materials.

The latches on the -"V" versions, did not have locking mechanisms on a lot of these economical versions.

The shoulder straps were of an inexpensive material, vinyl, nagahyde material, these were lighter weight and costs were cut.

The only issue is the black cap does not have the name of the "ITS GEORGE" I have seen this on one other Its George case, the cap had been broken on the bottom and it was replaced.

Hope this helps,

I would say, that this case is worth, $125.00 to $150.00 if it otherwise is very nice condition, other than the points made before,

Hope this helps

PS. This Maroon, material was one of the most common, Vinyl version ITS GEORGE cases, that were made.

It is a real It's George. There were several made this way, i still have one of them. they were given that strap and cheaper latch to I.D them kind of like a factory second. I think all of them were vinyl.
