I am contemplating the purchase of a new Cue Case. Either 2 x 4, or 3 x 5, or 3 x 6.

Have been looking at the Murnak & Talisman Cases listed in no special order.

notice both manufactures offer “backpack type” shoulder straps.

I was wondering if any one have one of these cases, and how well the backpack should straps work when carrying you case.

Do you use the straps, and are they practical, and comfortable.

Are you pro Murnak or Talisman? if so why or why not?

I have a Talisman 3/5 and use the shoulder straps when I have to go a fair distance - like at BCA Nationals, IPT, etc. Otherwise, I just sling it over one shoulder.

Here's a better pic of the straps and embossing. Btw, this case was custom-sized for me to accommodate extra-long shafts. My new case looks the same, but it is smaller.

I personally think a good single padded shoulder strap on 2 x 4 would be fine. I have have had the loan a Whitten 2 x 4 Model 42-F from a friend as I was consider buy his, and the padded strap was adequate for what I was carrying.

If I was to custom order a Whitten 42-F I would have the pad extended by 50% so it was more of a “U” over my entire shoulder, and make the strap about 8” longer for comfort with one more snap for adjustment.

jim murnaks system works great. the case is well made with fine heavy leather. design your own case, but have tubes made 1" shorter.

I have the same case as Linda except mine's black-green. I usually only use one of the shoulder straps and it works fine. The only thing I don't like about the case is the snap closure on the top, kinda cheepy

Straps

I have a 4x8 Murnak case, but only use one (1) strap over one (1) shoulder. With the pad, this works well.

I very rarely use my shoulder strap (single)...
It makes me wonder how far I would have to walk to employ that one strap...much less two.

I guess I'm saying I wouldn't consider it much in MY decision process, but thats just me.
