I am headed to the expo with a grand in hand. What cue would you pick up?
Wanting to try a barnhart, durbin, chudy and maybe a carmelli.....

For a grand, you may only be able to get a sneaky or a merry widow, especially at the show because the makers are bringing to cues to essentially show off their stuff.
Being that the expo is close to philly there's a chance you could find a Dan Dicola. Dan has stop making cues so in theory his brand will only become more rare and should consistently go up in value. Obviously I'm biased because I play with a Dicola but I have no reason to endorse him besides the fact I wouldn't trade my cue for any other cue in the world. I'm not a collector or extremely versed in cues so I don't know if this is common, but another guy that frequents the room I'm playing at was looking at my cue and realized he has the same exact cue in his collection(or at least very close). However he likes a super soft hit and thought that particular cue was a little stiff for his liking. After hearing that I was surprised since my cue is the softest hit I've tested to date so I let him hit a ball or two n instantly he agreed my cue hit way softer than his. Basically I'm saying this because I now know I can't speak for every Dicola when I say the hit is perfect. In other words make sure u try n test hit the Dicola to make sure it hits to your satisfaction.
You've got one thousand dollars. Give it a few days and you'll have about that many different opinions !!! LOLI am headed to the expo with a grand in hand. What cue would you pick up?

What?........ :ignore: :thud:
I'm saying since he's not making anymore cues buying one now should be a smart investment. Am I wrong in believing this? Like I said I'm not a cue collector but since u can't go buy a new one n most likely never will be able to again his cues will be harder to find
Yes, you are wrong. His cues will NOT go up in value - unless he becomes a famous actor, sports figure, president of the US, or a serial killer.

He's a cue makar? He made great cues. Stopped making cues altogether. What is so confusing ???

Best bang for you buck.

Here's what I think is the biggest hurdle that works against them being a great investment.
Supply and demand. The Dicola cue brand is relatively unknown, therefore the amount of prospective buyers are going to be small.
With that said, *anything* has the potential to be a good investment provided you buy it right.
