Cue Companion for sale

Well, I have done the same experience regarding Techno. A local retailer claimed around $20K which sounds for me that "some one is earning some money here"...
That?s why I have looked at www.cnc-step.com which seems to be performing pretty good and have spec's which is close to more expensive stuff.
However I'm not 100% convinced since the machine is equipped with a NC software which only gives support in German (only German web page. Program it self - menus etc is in English). Mach3 seems to be struggling with the supplied controller from www.cnc-step.com so I'm still looking into other options. I have even looked at www.sh-cnc.com. I'm awaiting a feedback from a industrial customer which has one of these to hear about his experiences. A lot of crap is made down in China, but if this is working good - it might be my solution. I'm not sure if the 4th axis is supported, but for me living in Europe, this is for sure cheaper solution than a K2.

And YES, you could actually make a truckload of other things than just cues ;)

There are a number of machines being built that are suitable for cue work and other work also. Techno-Isel is the Cadillac of the smaller Gantry CNC's. Sherm bought one in 1995 and had 15,000 in it with software. I'm sure they are higher now. Check out http://www.CNCzone.com and you will get many ideas and information on smaller CNC equipment at much friendlier prices.

Thank's Dick. I have been a member there for some months and done some post, but the feedback rate is by far much lower then in this forum. My experience so far is that buying closed - already made - linear systems for a Gantry from a known supplier (like Techno,Hepco,Rexroth etc) pretty much end up in a $10K figure, still missing motors and controller. So then you have to go the route of buying regular linear guides, adding ball screws with the proper ballbearings and then designe something that might work but maybe with a to bad tolerance in the accuracy. This would be in a much lower pricerange but I have not decide if this is the route I would like to walk. I did actually email you Dick some time ago, asking you how much you spent on your's, but maybe that email never came through ?
Anyway, thank you again :-)
