While I have visited his web site and seen numerous items up on Ebay offered by Cue Components, particularly shaftwood as well as other very nice items, I like to see the wood in my hands before making purchases. So, as good fortune would have it, I had an opportunity to visit Joe Barringer’s operation recently while in Florida. And what an operation he has going on.Well folks he definitely has the goods!! I had the opportunity to hand select shaftwood from thousands of blanks– yes, I paid a bit of a premium for the privilege, but it was well worth my time and $$ to come away with some of the best shaft wood and exotic wood I have had in quite sometime. It is not often that there is a supplier who not only has the wood but will allow you to select exactly what you want. Yea, I have paid less for wood and gotten some really nice pieces mixed in – but I had to take the bad with the good . . . Cue Components let me take exactly what I wanted . . . what a great experience! As a result I would not hesitate to purchase again over the internet, by phone or on Ebay. Keep up the good work Joe, I look forward to getting more great wood from you. And Joe was even gracious enough to put me on his Cue Components web site with a link to my own site. Now, that's good business! Here's a link to see what I mean. And Joe is also a bit of a comedian as well. Great guy to do business with.

cueman said:No sense in bringing up old news. So I suggest only posting current news about suppliers instead of old news that is years old unless it is good.

DaveK said:I just had a quick look and could find nothing on their site relating to this, do they still not ship to Canada ? (Joe ?) It would be too bad, with the way the Canadian dollar is going these days suppliers in the US should be noticing an increase in sales to Canadians. I did find a passage on the site saying they had good relations with a Canadian mill, so it seems they are buying good Canadian maple wood from a Canadian supplier.
Not a cuebuilder, just a curious fellow today ...

"Who We Will Not Ship To:
IMPORTANT NOTE: We will not ship to Canada, France, Germany and Indonesia. NO EXCEPTIONS. "
Apparently he's not happy about these Countries and their involvement in the War. I would love to hear his side of the story though.
