Has anyone used Birch to core their cues as opposed to using Hard Maple? I grabbed this screenshot from workshopcompanion to see how much of differences there was. Pros...cons? I would really appreciate any advice and thoughts, thanks guys!

I have used a few of the laminated ones before without any problems. I want to say that the birch was just a tad lighter maybe? I would have to go look but it was minimal at best.

I just built a shaft from a very old birch dowel. It plays great, fairly stiff as your highlighted numbers would suggest. The biggest knock on it probably is the slightly open grain.

Mike Bender told me once that he sometimes uses birch to core with. Again, he lives way up above the arctic circle where birch grows extremely slow & dense.
