Cue Design Software - Sponsors needed

I have been in contact with a software company, Alibre, that does 3D Cad applications, and pitched developing specific 'Cue Design' software for the Billiards World that is affordable to players and cuemakers alike. (Suggested 2 versions, Players version, and Cuemakers that has all bells and whistles).

I did a pretty indepth synopsis on what would be needed to be included in order to accomplish this, such as library templates for various wooods and inlays, predesigned patterns as well as tools for freehand design, joint templates, ferrule templates, tips, wraps, etc..

The President of the company seems interested, and this is a reply I got from
him:

Now, the question is:
Are there are private individuals or Billiard companies or cuemakers that would be interested in partially or wholly funding the development of viable 'Cue Design ' software for a share of the profits?

There was a guy in Arizona that had built a neet software design pkg for designing your own cue. Website was azcues.com. Seems to be out of business as I cant find the website.
 
It's a great idea, but I'd be surprised if anyone wants to spend real money on it.
Cuemakers are a small niche to start with and I bet many of them are more about carpentry than CAD
and wouldn't touch the software.

There are pretty decent freeware 3d renderers out there.
For example POV-ray does photorealistic raytracing,
You describe the scene in text, sort of like a simple programming language. It's not hard to learn.

It wouldn't be difficult to make a single text file that contains the cue shape,
plus several backdrops (pool cloth, wood floor, etc).
Then a separate file would have nothing but variables that non-technical people could easily edit,
where you specify which woods, what camera angle, what backdrop, etc.
Several canned patterns would be built in for points, rings, inlays, etc.

To make something truly custom with specific unusual inlays though would require
knowledge of the POV language. Still, if you just wanted to see different woods, colors, etc.
would look like when combined, that would be easy to whip up.
