I have seen guys using a back of the cue extension for a shot and was wondering would you be allowed to use a mid cue extension in the same manner. That is put it on and then take it off. Never seen it done that way.
I'd imagine it would depend on what league you're in and your local rules. I've used one in APA - but never took it off during match. (Some folks can take unscrewing a cue as a forfeit.)

It's just quicker to get it on and off to use a butt cue extension when needed for a long shot. Mid cue extenders are generally shorter and generally kept on for all shots. I use one as I am 6'5", but occasionally have to take it off when the CB is up against the end rail on a few of our tables that don't quite have enough room to the wall for a backstroke. I've never had anyone call me on a match concession when I do it.I have seen guys using a back of the cue extension for a shot and was wondering would you be allowed to use a mid cue extension in the same manner.
