Cue Extension ?

So I have just recently started building cues, but have been doing repairs and maintenance for about 2 and 1/2 years. I have a customer that I'm building a cue for and he wants to be able to add an extension to the butt of the cue. I have no idea how to make this happen. I thought about getting a weight bolt with no head and just putting it in further and then using the same thread size for the extension, but I don't know what bumper to use or if that's the best way to do it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We had a discussion about this some time ago - I tried to search for it but could
not find it. Have a try on your own.

I have Mezz extensions in stock which is installed by mounting a custom rubber
bumper with internal threads.

Have a look and I'm sure you would find something which would work for you :)

I just sis one for a customer. I used a threaded bumper from atlas and a headless weight bolt. I mad the extension out of black extruded plastic tube caped with wood on both sides so it would be light. They just have to remove the bumper and screw in the extension.

do it the way mezz does it. zac cues and deroo koos offer similar extensions. google 'em

Most cues I see here in NZ do not have bumpers on them. Most have a slightly recessed area and a thread insert in the back of the cue , for an extension.
Most players here , are of the opinion that the bumper is not good for the hit and prefer a cue without a bumper.
