Just got two replacement shafts for my cue and both are a tad too large at the joint. After i turn them down i would like to put the clear finish back on the shafts on the lower portion. I would like some instruction on what to do after i turn it down please.

Turn them about 2 thou under size. Sand them with 600 until they are smooth. Put on 2 coats of thin CA. Then 1 or 2 coats of med CA. Measure after each coat. When you are about 3 thou over size, wet sand them to the proper size with 600..... then use 1000, and polish them with compound......
