I am using a McDermott 2x4 cue case with one long pocket and one small pocket. And Somehow they are both full to the capacity because of all the different tip tools and other gizmos i have been gathering. so far i have

box of 12 masters blue
cue ball - aramith and white 8-ball aramith for practice
porper tip trimer
2 ultimate tip tools
1 disc sander
1 it's george
1 sleeve gizmo for wipping down the shaft
9 sheets of autobody sand paper
3!!!!!!! i don't know how or why tip piks
2 separate tip burnishers
replacement blades for my tip scuffer
4 quarters
bottle opener,
matches
and a black sharpie marker

so here's my question, what stuff are you guys toting around with you? and does anyone know where I can buy an extra pocket to attach to my case??:D

You could

modify one of your wife or girlfriend's purses and attach it, OR

you could get rid of 60% of that stuff because you really don't need it.
The only time you really need to pack a few extra things is if you are
going out of town to a BIG tournaemnt.

I carry:
Little pocket:
Pens (2)
Business cards (few)
5-6 pieces of hard candy
Spinali bridge head
Micro Radioshack Am/Fm radio (for basketball/baseball games)
1 piece of good 220 grit sandpaper (tip touching up)
Pocket size notepad
2-3 pieces of Masters dark blue chalk

Big Pocket:
Q-Claw cueholder (2 cues)
3-4 packs extra smokes
2-3 packs of cracker/cheese

Jump butt section of Big Pocket:
Scorpion jump butt with JP
Keychain: 1 TipPik Shadow (Used to have other tip tools, don't need
them since I have TipPik)

I clean and condition my shafts before playing any tournament.

BUT I LIKE HAVING EVERYTHIN WITH ME!!! IM A POOL PACK RAT!!! I can't stop. I don't get it. no gf or wife. I play pool too much to be involved in something so costly. LOL (that should inspire a few remarks)

HAHAHA didn't see that. Excellent, I am not the only one out there. I just realized i forgot to mention:

Willards dime shaper
Willards Nickel Shaper
Moose head bridge.
Some magazine article about the cost of living increasing in MA.
a random beer cap,
1 rag that is crusty and probably requires a hazmat team or some thing to get rid of
and a picture of Jenn Barretta from BD.

LOL nope that one will join it too soon. It's a black and white one where she is leaning over the table and staring down a shot. She has a pony tail, and focus that i haven't seen on a woman since my ex-GF broke up with me. HAHA

Lets see here.

I have a 3x6 Buffalo Instroke. One small and One long pocket.

Small pocket:

Ultimate Tip Tool
Tip pick pocket chalker combo.
2 peices of loose Blue Master chalk
q-wiz
small bottle of super glue
phone number of my local, great priced, table mechanic.

Large Pocket

2 boxes of blue master chalk
Cue Cloth
Shaft slicker
2 pens, one black, one blue
1 copy of billiards digest (this rotates as each month comes in, something to flip through between league matches.
My car keys when I get to wherever I am going with my cues. (I hate leaving them in a pants or jacket pocket)

I just recently added a carabeaner that has a combo lock on it. Found it at some climbing store to my case to hold my car keys on the outside of the case, and sometimes my watch.

Good Idea for the keys. I never take my watch off though. I got used to shooting with it on. Im left handed and I wear it on my right wrist which is my bridge hand.

OH MY, HERE COMES ANOHER ONE. WHEN DO YOU HAVE ANY TIME TO ACTUALLY PLAY POOL?

Holy crap?! Some of you guys forgot to put a lathe in ur case for those emergencies where either your tip falls off or if the ferrule cracks! C'mon, in reality if you have a spare playing shaft all you need is a tip shaper and scuffer in your case and maybe 1 or 2 pieces of chalk. For those who have sweaty palms a small bottle of powder too. That's all you need! If you don't have an extra playing shaft get one, it'll save you a ton of room in your case. All your maintenance stuff like sand paper and cue cleaner you can leave at home and just do it there.

re BARRETTA PIC

Might expain crusty rag

ps: my army drill sgt used to say that I kept too much stuff in my front pockets since doing all those pushups created holes in those pockets

You suffer from a worse case of "dont leave home without it, I might need it someday"

I also used to carry a full kit for tip replacement, but after having never used it in 3 years, and then starting to buy cues with 2 shafts, I realized there was zero point. Why bother having a second shaft if not for occasions when a tip gets messed up?

I consolidated my case last night, during play, I noticed a strange insecurity, of not having my Pool Junk with me. I couldn't string a run or anything. So during a coffee break went home re junked my case, came back and strung 3 racks of 8ball. I compare it to the days when i played soccer and lacrosse, and didn't wash my jersey during the finals. Did it help? Probably not, but I ain't going to change it. LOL
