In 1980 this mystery cue maker at his pool league banquet near Reading PA. donated his first four point four veneer cue as a door prize. The cue was won by a Charles "Buster" Knoll of Pricetown Road, Pricetown PA. who was playing out of the Cabaret Hotel. The person doing the drawing made the mistake of putting Buster's name card back into the fish bowl, and sure enough, Buster also won the $200.00 door prize as an added bonus.
Maybe someone from AZ near Reading PA. can notify Buster and make him aware of the history of this mystery cue maker's first four point four veneer cue that was built. Buster just may want to hang on to that 1st 4 point 4 veneer cue and get a very lucky third door prize!!! (<:
Also, the person that said it could be an early Mottey, well, no it couldn't be because Paul didn't start making cues until 1987.
This mystery cue builder met Paul in 1988 in Erie, PA. and they discussed their cue making techniques. Paul was just getting started. Interesting little history that should be documented for future references IMHO.
