Cue Identification Help

Hello! I have this cue sitting around and would like to know for sure what it is. I am pretty sure it is a Schmelke, but I do not see any marking on the cue at all. I saw another Schmelke just like it, besides the blue on the botton of the butt. Could the blue have been added? I just would like to get a little more info before I sell the cue. I don't want to say it is a Schmelke if it is not. Thanks!

I believe that you are correct They made a cue for years called the True Stroke and this looks like a fancier one. The wood on the butt looks fancy almost burl like and the pearlized butt cap and the wedge inlay are not all that common on the True Stroke. The joint and the drilled and filled inlays are what you would normally see on these cues. That wood on the butt is great. Schmelke made cues for Brunswick along time ago and the Brunswick name was on the rubber bumper. It would wear of when players would set it down on the floor, look closely you may still have letters on it.

Looks like a Schmelke. They only had a sticker like this, it could have gotten peeled off.

Thanks for the help. You are right, the wood is great on this cue. Right after I made this thread a friend stopped over and he was talking about buying this cue and he really liked the wood also. He was thinking about converting it though. Good idea or does anyone know if these have any value like it is?

I would rather keep the cue the way it is. The dots on the points and the forearm area would not look good on a conversion and of course thats just my opinion. There are always old Titlist cues that I think would be better for a conversion but they cost a pretty penny also.:wink:
