Hello to all that look at this post. I have a cue and am looking for help in identifying who may have made the cue. Any help is appreciated. It looks similar to an old JOSS I had once except it has a brown fiber joint and a slightly longer ferrule.
SPECS: Butt is 28 1/4" , 5X16X14 joint pin that is 7/8" out of edge of joint
weighs 15.7oz with a 1 1/2oz 3-4 inch weight bolt, wrap is 11 3/8" L
.81" at joint, above wrap 1", below wrap 1.17", bottom 1.26"
Shaft is 28 1/4" L, 1 1/8" ferrule, 13mm tip 3.55oz
I believe the cue is old, possibly 70's. It was acquired in Arizona and the previous owner had no information. Maybe someone on this forum once played a person using this cue and may remember something as it is engraved "THE" "MACHINE"

Back in the day lots of people had engravers and engraved their personal items. So I wouldn't judge the maker by the engraving. It looks like a basic conversion using commonly available materials so identification will not be easy. Probably from the late 70's, it's not a Joss.

Maybe it's me, but the pin looks a lot newer than the rest of the cue.

The font used for the engraving definately looks like Schick.

Would be cool if you found one of his early cues, wonder what the value of it would be if not repaired by someone. 5K?

Think it is a cheap import. I'll give you $100 for it.

Seriously though I agree with Ken and Paul. It screams Schick.

Maybe the cue was done by Billy Stroud.. he uses a font like that too.

Hello. Thanks to everyone who has given their thoughts as to who may have made the cue. Does anyone have Schick's contact information? Here are a few more specs that some have asked for and a picture of the base of the points.
base of points gap 3/8"
Shaft collar 1/4"
butt collar 1'
butt sleeve 2 3/4"
cap 1 1/2"

Hello. I just wanted to update the information. As most of you who responded to my inquiry were right in saying SCHICK. I mailed him a letter with pictures and he responded back telling me YES he made this cue. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
