Cue Identification

Hi all,

I picked up this cue from Craig's List and was wondering if someone could identify it. It is probably not a custom, but I am not sure. I am sure that it is at least 15 years old. The cue is roughly 57in. long and weighs approximately 19oz. I can tell it is pretty old because the wood has shrunk by the ring work and the ferrule. Surprisingly the cue is straight considering the size of the handle. The art work appears to be painted on. Is this something that was popular in the 60s/70s/80s ??? Is it worth the $40 I spent or is it a POS?

Look like an early Taiwan special. Probably from the 70's. It's worth $40, but not much more. :)

Thanks for the info. The cue has a good solid hit so perhaps I will have the ferrule fixed and have the ring work evened out a little. It will make a good knock around cue or a good cue for the kids to play with at home.
