Cue Names?

Do any of you all give names to your cues?

I was just wondering since someone suggested that I name my new custom cue.

So how many of you all name your cues, and what are the cue's names?

Only heard of a cue being named once

I have only heard of a cue being named once. There was this
Meucci cue on ebay, which a guy painted some type of metallic
purple, and painted the points metallic silver. He said that in his
local pool room, the cue became known as the "bling bling cue".

I thought that was funny, and the price that it fetched even funnier!

i name all of my cues Peter. that way if a gal asks what i am shooting with i can say:

"Well, i am playing with my Peter. would you like to play with my Peter?"

1...big boy
2...johnny
3...da hamma
4...daddy's 'lil dividend
5...sophie
6...thor's thunder
7...one stick to rule them all
8...atticus, the righteous
9...mama don't fail me now

Kind of funny...I've never named a cue. Cars, shop Vacs (Monica), you name it...rifles, handguns, all have names. But I've never named a cue. Probably because I'm a lousy pool player...just a guy who loves playing.

I never name anything that won't come when called! Occasionally something of mine accidentally gets a name hung on it or someone else hangs a name on it though.

I have been known to call my stick by a name you wouldn't hear in sunday school but that is just a temporary thing when one of us is having a bad day. :D

Well if I had to come up with a name for my cue it would be Excalibur. No cheesey female names....:D

It's obvious in what you said... All the things you've named have their own power. A cue uses YOUR power. Therefore, it should be an extension of yourself, not something individual. That is why you haven't named any cues. Why would you want multiple names for yourself? Might give you a complex and cause a need to visit a shrink, or something! Who wants to give up time and money to visit a shrink when they could use both to be playing another game of pool?

Sorry guys. Just had to jump in and smart off. :p

Never thought of naming my cues. Have a hard enough time remembering all the kids' and cousins' names!

It never comes when called and does not do anything else I tell it to so it hasn't earned a name --- yet.

My dog started out with a simple name, Harry. He has become known far and wide as Happy Harry. You can probably figure out why.

I'm slightly embarrassed to say I do have names for all of my cues. I name them after good looking girls ;)

Playing cue - Haley
Break cue - Audrey
Second cue - Bianca

Like ShootingArts said, the occasional expletive is one of the things I call my cues. Other than that one is "The El Cheapo" & the other is "The Good 'Un."

No, I've never named any inanimate object nor have I named any animate things other than my children and 1 dog, naming any pet makes sense to me too. I have had a few cars I called a "piece of s**t", but I don't suppose that is actually a name.
