Cue pricing and resale value

Do cuemakers consider the resale value of their cues when determining a price to sell what they make? what percent of original price should a cue sell for on the secondary market?

I certainly can't speak for all cue makers, but when it comes to pricing my cues I charge a price that will yield me a profit that I feel is fair based on my time spent making the cue.

As far as the "secondary market" pricing concern, I don't think Ford considers the used car lot owners when they charge their prices, do they?

If a maker's price is too low, cue flippers will be all over him. They'll order and resell his cues for a profit. That's when the maker needs to raise his price.

The price on the secondary market is determined by the market.
