Cue question.

If your not to bothered about buying a collectable cue, either old, or with very expensive fittings. Would a Players Purex low deflection cue be classed as having a decent track record, and a decent stick for a beginner? I've seen one I like, at a price I can afford ( still expensive however) that I'm looking at buying. So I suppose I'm asking are Players cues ok? Ricky9ball. Thanks to all.

If you prefer wrapless this is what I would recommend. New Pechauer. They made this cue in production in various color combination. This cue was only offered to dealers 1 month in this specific color combination.

This is below your budget. We also have several Schon’s built when Evan and John were in charge and the good stuff was in play.

Shooter08, I've gone for the Players, as Amazon do a service where I can pay the duties upfront, and get a quick delivery. To your question, I've never tried pool, ever. I come from a Snooker background living in England, and have just found a club near me that has American Pool tables. I thank you for your kind, helpful answers. Best regards Ricky9ball.

I am sure the Players cue will be a good start. If for some reason you do not enjoy pool, it will be a minimal lose. I would advise to ask anyone who you are comfortable w that has a pool cue to test it out. There should be dealers who offer Schon, Pechauer and possibly Jacoby cues in England. I used to play snooker on a 12 ft table at my local pool hall when I was 16 W a 11mm tip on a 1979 Viking w a super joint. The damn red balls would be rejected out of pockets like pinballs.

Gotta love a guy called Ricky9ball who's never played pool,,,,,,, good luck with the Players pard, they are fine for what they are for.

I know some very high-skill players that never bothered to spend a lot of money on their cues and play with a basic Player's cue. A Purex has an upgraded shaft and tip, so that will absolutely be sufficient until or unless you decide you need something better. I also agree you should check out Schmelke.
