Hey guys,
I have a Paul Dayton that has a warp in the handle and i've chat with Mr. Dayton himself and he said that he could replace the handle as well as install a new leather wrap for $250.
I put the cue on Ebay and it sold, but the stupid buyer hasn't paid. It's been 6 days and still waiting for the payment. And I think I may just as well keep the cue.
I was wondering should I replace a new handle and leather wrap and keep it as it is, or replace the handle as cocobolo wood and make it wrapless.
Which do you think is better in the sense of if I were to resell the cue in the future?
This is not a for sale kind of thing, but if you can give me advice or make me a fair offer.
I don't know what to do with her.
The cue is ebony, with Grise butt cap, 2 shafts, the butt handle where it meets the forarm has a common warp (1/8") roll, nickle + brass rings, Mr. Dayton said it would cost around $800 when It was brand new. Mr. Dayton dates this cue "1999-2003". I just really want some advice upon refinishing and changing the handle at Minimum cost, but still have good results.
